For you Impact and tripod guys

I wanted a way to balance the gun better on a tripod. Especially when ratting the PARD 008lrf, two dual 18650 flashlights, mount and monitor and it still wants to fall backwards not really bad but the center of balance isn't where the pic rail is.

Long story long I found this on aliexpress and it's perfect. Nice and thick aluminum will have no issues.

You'll notice it's much more stable on a tripod if you go this route!

About 20USD and comes with rail, the middle mount that has arca at top (attach to gun) and bottom (attach to rail).

yes, this your setup looks awesome, you have a short arca rail in the Impact stops short of the bottle.

I have a long rail the entire bottle length, a bit rear heavy, I need a support.

Yeah I have the same long arca on my other impact but longer forward only makes it worse. (For being tippy/back heavy)

Need the center of balance over the ballhead, and yes thanks LBC that's what it's called.

Thanks glem chally, I just ordered one for my cricket mini carbine since it is so unbalanced on the tripod

not giving advice here, but because i am sort of ocd, i don't like hanging the weight of the rifle off the polymer lower rail, so i leave it at an angle. paranoid? lol

i don't use a slider because i like to drive the rifle with the ballhead just tight enough to support the weight, so it takes some effort to move it,

this is habit from shooting a .308 from the tripod up to now, so that might change.

Only one comment Glem, instead of a ball-head next time try out something like a levelling head:

I got this my from gobigtactical, somewhere in your neighbourhood in BC, but I see now they sold out

Well does it tilt? I use the tilt and full movement of a ballhead that's why I use one. Neat though 👍

Yes, Glem the leveling head he shows tilts about 10 degrees. Others can tilt 15 degrees or more.

How you mean tilt? like 90 degree, no.

But gives you a very smooth "sliding" feel inside a sphere - without tightening the "ball", and it has about 15 degree free sliding each direction, depend how the tripod is set level. And I believe the "lock" is way stronger then a ballhead "swivel"

leveling head also allows level panning, but a quality ball head will lock completely, i shoot a Scar 20S (7.62x51mm) from my tripod and anvil head.

Depends what size ball you use, those piddly balls like in your pic yeah they don't hold firm. I use mine for ratting mostly so I need all kinds of angles, pan and tilt. So I don't need any recommendations to try something else im VERY happy with my current setup. Although new options are always good for me the ballhead (a big and high quality one) works perfect.

I can lock it level and pan smoothly with the ballhead also.
