For you Impact and tripod guys

I pickup a Vortex Radian Carbon with Ball Head over the weekend. Love IT!

I was using ballheads as well for several years, but I got a bigger DSLR camera for my BD earlier this year and I needed something stronger and more secure support for a piece in mind. When my BR finally started in July I just wanted to try it out with my MK2 and absolutely like it way more then a ballhead.

wooow, Look at these legs ;)

Great, wow and amazing. Again for the 3rd time I use my setup STANDING. And use all different angles. Please stop trying to derail this thread with your musings, preferences and show and tell. I get it you prefer another setup. Start your own thread pal.

I wanted a way to balance the gun better on a tripod. Especially when ratting the PARD 008lrf, two dual 18650 flashlights, mount and monitor and it still wants to fall backwards not really bad but the center of balance isn't where the pic rail is.

Long story long I found this on aliexpress and it's perfect. Nice and thick aluminum will have no issues.

You'll notice it's much more stable on a tripod if you go this route!

About 20USD and comes with rail, the middle mount that has arca at top (attach to gun) and bottom (attach to rail).

Man, that was EXACTLY what I was looking for a few months back when I decided to tinker around with tripod shooting!!!

Ugh LOL, anyway I went with the Spartan Ascent system. Davros Pro head, they make a ton of attachments and these tripod legs can come off pretty quick and mount into trekking pole handles (that's what sold me for big game hunting in the mountains).

Finding that I like shooting from tripods a lot like I prefer my women - with a little bit of weight in the rear. The Impact & Maverick COG's end up with a LOT in the rear obviously, but I don't have to crank down to the point of a hernia to lock them in horizontal:

my hands free setup.

That looks great! love those bronze models, nice photo and setup.

Great looking shots and rigs there Gino, love the backdrop PNW. I spend many a summer working in places that look just like that and had a fantastic time. Those look like some serious units thanks for sharing. Yeah I went through a couple cheap and small ballheads then found the bigger and higher quality ones, with the night shooting sometimes I'll walk away from it for a second and go back to my truck or something I'd cringe if it fell over with the gun and pard etc on it. (onto asphalt or concrete)

Nice gear makes everything better and really loved that vid of you shooting your vet in the wind. Impressive!

My M3 hasn't come yet, but here is the tripod it will sit on. This model is probably overkill but I like the Leofoto 362C over the 223C. The only problem is that it is so big that when it is set flat the feet do not contact the ground/table (the bulky rubber ends do) Even the larger feet do not sit flush on the lowest setting.

So to solve this problem I got some moldable rubber and now they sit on that and this tripod is STUCK in place!! I can move it, but it won't slide around.

I got some bigger shoes for it, for when it is not laying flat

And if anyone is curious about the size difference between the 2 tripods, here you go. The 223C with this ball head looks like that guy who only works out his upper body and skips leg day lol

I ordered my Impact from Utah Air Guns in May, about 10 weeks ago, and I was told it would take 8-12 weeks to be delivered. Yesterday I was told it could take as long as ANOTHER 10 weeks!!! Ridiculous.

Yeah that's a cringeworthy possibility right there, especially with my setup. My only gripe is the locking lever on my Spartan, there's about a 1mm difference between the "let's test gravity" and "not going anywhere" modes lol. That knob on yours looks like you can get a good grip to lock that thing down pretty well.

And thanks, the scenery never grows old in the PNW! I often have regrets for getting into the tech business every time I chat with loggers / road builders / arborists out there.
