You're not as sly as you like to think yourself.
We can all see that this is a self serving attempt to continue to be able to win matches, and doing so without needing to kneel. You don't like the senior class option because that places you in your own group, outside of the rest of the field of competitors, and where a win wouldn't mean as much since you shot the course the easier way.
Hence why I say you're wanting to have your cake and eat it too. You want an exception made, but don't want to be excluded/segregated into a scarlet letter labeled senior class.
You are not proposing it as an exception, but rather a rule change. Regardless of the framing, this proposed rule change would constitute an exception. Ie something that benefits you specifically.
"You're not as sly as you like to think yourself." If you're considering becoming a professional mentalist specializing in reading minds FL, I suggest you not quit your day job. You're no better at reading minds than reading forum posts. But thank you for
again allowing me to restate the truths about my proposal.
1) Like my proposal,
handicap parking spaces and wheelchair ramps don't accommodate only seniors.
2) I have several FT friends that are not senior, yet are unable to assume the kneeling position. I suspect you do also.
3) In seeking
accommodation for them and seniors I serve not just myself, but
the greater good of not only a large and growing percentage of FT shooters, but consequently
ALSO the greater good of Field Target. Yes, 1/3 or more is a large percentage.
4) I don't mind a Senior class option; that already exists.
5) I'm proposing neither an exception, nor a rule change.
6) I am proposing an accommodation in the existing Kneeling rules for a large percentage of FT shooters. That accommodation would have no negative impact on anyone; only positive.
7) I/We seek no advantage.
8) I/We request ONLY no disadvantage.
9) Just as wheelchair ramps are also used by non-seniors and non-handicaps, so, also, would able-bodied FT shooters be welcome to use my proposed accommodation. It excludes no-one.
10) It's there for those that need it, and those that prefer it. Hence,
NO-ONE loses due to disadvantage(s). 11) I still win at least my share of FT matches, despite shooting Kneeling lanes offhand.
12) I will continue doing so.
Happy Shooting,
R
