FX foxes at 50 meters

You can kill foxes with a limp .30 or less airgun, but you won’t be smashing them. Nothing made in .25 will smash them. To plant them right on the spot with the little .25 you have chosen will require a headshot. At 100m your gun will have to be shooting 1.25 inch groups all the time every day under all conditions. You have your work cut out for you with slugs. Your gun, an afternoon of tuning and a 33.95gr pellet? More doable. The gun is definitely capable with less hassle.

Bulldog m257, Griffin 68 gn hpbt.

I totally agree with this. I'm currently shooting .25 cal 33.95 gn @ 935 fps which equates to 64 foot pounds of energy. Barrel is a 1:30 polygonal. 100 yds is no problem but for a 1.25" group there had better be very little wind gusts. The right setup can get the job done (pellets or slugs) but it requires concentration and patience.

If the accuracy is high, you have enough gun IMO, but is that not always the case? Many deer in the USA have been DRT with a .22 in the ear. We don't know the numbers as they are being poached. Given the prices at the grocery store of late....the numbers are going up. Given our airguns propensity for staying under the sound barrier, projectile weight is the only other method to get the energy required. Yes, I'm told I have an eye for the obvious. :)
