Airforce FrankenTalon on the Chrony

Finally got everything dialed in and assembled correctly. Firing H&N Barracuda Match 21g. Regulator set at 2400PSI. Power Wheel at 8

Traded out the 12" barrel for the 19" barrel.

WHOA, put in 14.3gr H&N and POW supersonic report. Put the 21gr H&N in, 1015FPS. Cranked the power wheel down to 2, mid 900. Guess I need to adjust the regulator down from 2500PSI i was using with the 12" barrel.

Although at 2 on the wheel it is a bit easier to cock.

Ordered a 16mm barrel to 1/2-20 Adapter from Trajectron so I can use one of my better moderators. Without the inserts from the 12" the 6 inch moderator that came with the gun is much less effective.

that bit more barrel does make a difference, dont it!? Have seen several folks mention Trajectron and I'd not ordered from them due to suspicions, but seems they are legit. Will have to poke around and see what all they have.
Numbers look great... hows the accuracy or have you gotten there yet?
Not with the 19, yet. Need to quiet it back down. No sense disturbing the crazy lady in the apartments across the creek.

Trajectron has been great for me. Some really good prices, some not so good. $17 shipping DHL, usually less than a week to CA.
$19 90g hammer probably the best deal.
Adapters that cost $45 elsewhere are $23.

Buy a broke down Talon SS for $100. Spend $750 (at least) in parts just to play around with the platform. A brilliant plan if I do say so myself.

Parts I ordered from Trajectron yesterday will be here Thursday. 5 days from India by DHL for $17

Apolo Monster 25.4gr. A bit tighter group and same consistency

Just put 40 or so Barra "The Clyde" pellets down range. Didn't have the Chrony on but they were impressive accuracy wise. Gusty wind and nickel size groups at 45 yards. All 3 of the heavy .22 have been really good with the new 19" barrel.

The various tank setups the Huben Power drop block with the shorty 1.1L is winning hands down. The stock unit isn't much. The Huben Power Cricket Max-ATH and Trajectron high flow valve is better than the stock but surprisingly 100FPS behind the drop block. I've got some high flow rebuilds for the Airforce valves and I'll probably try the stock valve first to see if that improves.

No rebuild of the stock valve or the Trajectron. The rebuild kit use a much finer thread on the body. I try the AliExpress high flow valve when it gets here. See if it can keep up with the Huben Power drop block.

I do like my big volume bottles. Put a lot of pellets down range, 80-100, this afternoon. Dropped the 1.1L from ~4000psi to ~3200psi.

As a test in another thread I cranked the power wheel to 10 and got 960FPS and 70J energy with Apolo Monster 25.4gr.

Which makes me think I can probably get 80j or close by increasing the regulator pressure. Since I have no clue where I'm going with this build it is on the list of additional stupid stuff to try.

I'm kind of surprised how much I'm enjoying the AF platform. Was not a big fan going in but it is simple and yet lots of paths to go down.

Trajectron is legit..Ive ordered twice and very happy both times...THere Airforce Condor V2 valvewith 110 gram hammer and heavy spring is a power house..In a 28 inch 12 twist .222 cal i can get 1000 fps with 52 grain slugs.. Trajectron 9 inch moderator for $70.00 works well..

Great to hear... I'd looked at their stuff a bit. Will have to look more seriously when I build back up the secret squirrel fund.
