I think the lolly, bead, ball post is best for target. A round ball under a round bulls you got to be more precise

( Take a quarter as a bulls and a penny as the sight as a true 6 oclock hold and move the penny left or right and see what i mean ).

I highlight mine with gold flake to see it better in that dark cave globe ..lol

Before I retired, I made clear plastic inserts with a hole in the center that fit into the globe on the front. The hole was made with a tapered center drill, so when you looked thru it, it looked like a thin black circle. Made them different diameters to fit different globe site holders. Used to compete in 10 meter 5 bull matches and often shot the wrong bull because the metal in the site covered the other bulls and if you shot out of sequence it was a miss! The clear plastic inserts allowed me to see the other bulls but not real clear, but enough to know which one I was shooting at!! When you sighted thru the hole, of course everything was crystal clear. They worked awesome, made a bunch of them for the other shooters. Have a small number of them left over...somewhere in my excess shooting stuff. If I know the outside diameter of the round insert that fits into your globe, I might have a few that fit.

This is a great point with ball front sights! I’ll definitely keep mine after this.

I’m very curious to hear everyone’s replies, great question. I’ve been looking for front sights for FWB 124 and R7, so given the chance I’m curious what is the best recommended front sight. I have stock globe front sights to go with Williams rear peeps presently on my HW 30S.
Which Williams rear sight do you have?

This one, I believe: https://www.brownells.com/gun-parts...s/rifle--foolproof-fp-gr-tk-grooved-receiver/

EDIT: actually, I’m not too sure whether it is the AG or GR version. A forum member sold me a pair of the TKs last year, one with a knob missing. I have one on a HW30S and another that I put on my FWB124…. just pending a front sight for the FWB.

Did you check out this listing? I’d get it if I were you: https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/williams-fp-ag-tk-with-extra-apertures.1294729/

That’s a good point. I’m trying to learn to shoot with a peep sight so I’m trying to get a feel for how to be accurate.
Peep sights were recommended to me by people on the forum, and I’m really happy with them. It’s amazing how accurate they can be. I recently got a 4x scope and, granted, that has its own learning curve, but I can outshoot it at most ranges with the peep. And peeps are so much easier to sight quickly(less visual wobble). Sorry if that veered off your original question about front sights!

That was my experience as well....when much younger !! As I got older that reversed, so now can't see well without a scope!!
How nice it was to be young !!!

The center hole needs a slight taper on the edge to create the black line appearance. When I made mine, I made straight thru holes and also holes with a taper on the edge to create the black line image. I thought the black line was easier to sight on.
