FT Pistol Scope rule

At my last FT shoot I overheard a group talking about pistol FT optic rule change that is coming this year. That it would be legal to have a scope over the 12x as long as the scope was set on 12x. I didnt ask any questions as I was setting up to shoot. Anyway I would like to set up my 1720 I do not have a suitable scope now. I dont see a big selection that stops at 12x on the market. Is the rule change a hopeful rumor?

2023 & beyond rule for PFT ... Yup, scope can go above 12X, tho MUST BE set at all times No greater than 12X

There are plenty of "rifle" scopes that go to 12x....in a pistol scope I think Burris is the only one,
I have a "fixed" Leupold 12x Leupolds are one of the better and lighter scopes to be had.
