full auto pellet rifles, good or bad?

Hey guys! I'm offering up this topic for discussion. Will the proliferation of fully automatic pellet rifles cause a reaction with the public/ government/ Alphabet org? I can't imagine what the layman (sorry.. Layperson) may think when they hear one of these machine guns being fired. Even though they may be suppressed, the sound is very distinctive, especially with the high caliber weapons! I fear that, within the current political climate, this may cause more scrutiny to our hobby by the government, much like the restrictions on airguns that are prevalent in the UK. Don't get me wrong, I love my auto, but I shoot it in full, only in very remote areas. Man, it sure is fun! Let's hear your 2 cents!

For me my airguns are for putting as many pellets as I can in the smallest hole I can. I am more into precision shooting than I am into seeing how fast I can waste a tin of pellets. Spray and pray just isn't for me.

But as to the potential scrutiny it can bring to our hobby I believe it is a genuine concern. While I don't consider it a deserved scrutiny when done by responsible shooters. I have to wonder how many morons are out there that will use them with little regard for safety concerns just because it would be fun shooting one. And they are too readily available to those morons.

I'm all for a free and open market. If people want to buy full auto airguns, then I'm all for the manufacturer's making them and selling them as long as it is legal. However, we do need to face the very real possibility that more attention will be brought upon our hobby by having more full auto airguns. Honestly, I think it's a matter of time before unwanted attention comes our way anyway (along with possible restrictions!) But for now, I'm enjoying the hobby unrestricted and free for the most part.

There is no problem with them at this time. The only way there would be a problem is if too much attention is focused on them like when someone writes it in bold letters in the heading on a forum or something and adds a bit of machine gun and other crazy stuff to it and invites all to discuss it. Lets get real here they are airguns not firearms. Just another gimmick meant to sell more airguns at best.

It's best if this kind of post is never brought up.

That regulation that y’all may be worried about is coming. Not if, rather when. I’m pretty sure it’s being talked about as we speak and as far as I understand it, the AG industry is involved, self regulation if you will.

My thoughts? Not interested. I’m sure it would be fun shooting it a couple times, but that’s it. I’m not even interested in semi-autos.

Discussion is what is important. If you think using bold font is inappropriate, than grow up dude. This font is used to make a point, and I seriously doubt that the Alphabet org is reading this blog. As for spray and pray, I know that some of these guns are darn accurate in semi auto and in full, can certainly out perform their fire breathing counterparts. Oh BTW, a can of pellets is very inexpensive when compared to bullets. Let's get real and keep cheap emotions out of the thread...

At approximately $20.00 for 500 JSBs is not cheap. If you're looking for people to affirm your purchase you may not find it.And why do you need it? Most of us don't really care about a full auto pellet gun. If you want one go get it while they are legal and enjoy it. For me its a waste of money. I'm kind of finding my semi auto is a waste for me.

First of all, I don't need a full auto airgun. It is collectable and fun.

You have obviously never purchased firearm ammo... a box of 9mm is about $25 for 100. A tin of pellets costs $25 for 500...

I don't need anyone to affirm my purchase and I find your statement insulting. You obviously have issues...

I'm sorry you think you waisted your meager funds on an auto.

Arguing on a thread is both unproductive and pointless...

Why start a conversation when you can't take it when someone disagrees with you. Home defense is not allowed to be talked about here.

The "need" for a full auto pellet gun is lost on me. I got into this sport/ hobby to see if I could hone my skills, learn new ones and become as accurate as I, personally, could be one shot at a time. So, that being said, I never saw the need for them or the sense in them. The very first time I saw a full auto advertised my initial thought was "here comes the unwanted attention we've been, so far, able to avoid". Other than the "giggles" I'm sure I'd get dumping a magazine or two (or twelve) on full auto the novelty would be over. I certainly wouldn't use it to hunt. I'm a one shot, one kill kinda guy. That doesn't mean I think others shouldn't own them, that's their RIGHT but I just don't get the logic. I also know that sooner or later some imbecile will use it in an irresponsible manner that will bring unwanted attention to us ALL. What's next, airgun bazooka, airgun tow missile, blah, blah, blah. I think you get my point. What CAN go wrong WILL go wrong & we will all suffer because of it.

You obviously do not know how to have a productive discussion. This is what is wrong with this country. I am willing to bet you are under 35 years old. Did I cast any pejoratives in my commentary? I think not. One should look in a mirror before making rude remarks...

While no one can accurately predict what the govt will outlaw next, you best believe if certain people get elected we may very well be in a U.K. type situation. I don’t worry about it though, if they do decide to ban them there ain’t poop I can do except move somewhere that’s not banning them. Hopefully Texas becomes its own country at that point and maintains its positive outlook on guns.

Had to smile a little I am sure the UK guys and Canada guys are saying them crazy Americans with there full auto air guns, As they only get to shoot there restricted air guns.

I watched a few of the UK guys hunting and what they can do with there underpowered air guns is amazing .

I was talking to a Canadian in Mexico at a dental office and we were talking guns,,, He stated you Americans do not realise how lucky you guys got it,,,I had to stop him and say YES I understand how lucky we are...

@Jennamber2, yes, if you read your own replies you casted a number of pejoratives. Also, arguing is NOT antithetical to "discussion". Though one can have a discussion without argument that's just not what's happening here. No one accused you of needing affirmation, just stated that IF you were, you might not get it. YOUR response seemed emotionally based yet you accused another of letting "cheap emotions" get involved. I don't get it. Seems to me you were expecting different replies & got emotionally charged when that didn't come to fruition. So what REALLY was the purpose of your original post?
