We do have a lot of members. Members that cherish this hobby. Most,y good folks on here willing to help. Check out all the sub forums like the compressor section, etc and you will see all folks willing to help if they are able.
But we also want to protect this hobby. Not draw so much attention to it, in so many words. There are a handful of topics frowned upon for discussion, like the anti lead laws, the word sil.... instead of moderator, and well, your topic.
I re read your original post. Sounds like you got a Huben or the LCS SK 19. I can tell you like it and have a blast with it. But it also sounds like maybe your concerns should’ve been addressed before you bought it, instead of posting it up now asking everyone’s opinion on them. You should’ve just kept to your excitement and maybe shared some targets and pics of all the empty $15 tins of pellets on the ground.
may I offer some advice on your follow thru to these folks? There may come a time when that tool of yours breaks down, and you’ll be asking for help or advice. People here don’t forget.....keep that in mind.

Well thank you for your understanding. Yes I am new here. I have no idea of your taboos and mores, but I would think that it would be advantageous to hear from new voices and new opinions. It seems that I was wrong... I am 65 yrs old and have been into this hobby for over 50 years. I just decided to get more involved as I am newly retired and being cooped up is not my way. If you would like some more insight into my character Google "Melnyk, skishing" . That's me.

Paul Melynk I remember my neighbor in Freeport(Long island), John Remson(Garvey builder & fisherman), talking about the type of fishing you do. I can imagine doing that with a big old blue fish wooooo that would be a ride!
You picked quite the testy subject. A lot of us here get all worked up when these subjects get brought up because it brings images of our sport coming to a halt if they scrutinize airguns like in the UK. If your cup of tea is controversial subjects then you damn sure are sipping the finest earl grey. Otherwise I would avoid these types of topics. Not trying to tell you what to do just a suggestion

The problem is that crises tend to bring about fear and other kinds of overreactions. It's pretty cheap and easy to address fears and problems by putting one more law on the books, pointless or damaging or not. And we are having overlapping crises now, unlike in 2015. I believe we have more cause for concern than usual.

I hope you're right. But symbolic gestures become very attractive when there's nothing much you can do, or will do, that's actually going to do something real. And politicians are nothing if not opportunists.

I think it's kind of like when bump stocks came out for PBs. At first nobody paid any attention to them except a small group of select shooters. Then word spread about how much fun they were and a LEGAL way to own a machine gun. . As word spread it began to come to the attention of the antigunners that there was a loophole and MACHINE GUNS were now avallable legally to the public and the push to ban them began. I had bought one for my S&W 22 and had a lot of fun with it. When I heard the news about the shooting in Los Vegas I told my wife that sounds like a bump stock not a machine gun and sure enough that was all it took to get them ban. Seems similar enough to warrant care in how we deal with the subject. These times we are now in are unlike any before and it seems like all it takes is a small group to decide they don't like something to get it taken away. The days of the majority rules seems to be quickly disappearing.
