Fly shooting is the Best !!! Put a Raw piece of chicken liver in cheese cloth and hang from a nail attached to a piece of plywood.. Paint plywood white so you can see them better .

Tannerite will actually work with an airgun when you mix in about 2% to 5% KClO4. You can also mix only KClO4 and Aluminum powder 65/35 by weight - that´s a classic flashbang mix which should be easy to set off even with a low powered airgun, makes a nice flash and a hell of a loud bang. Check first if this is legal in your state before you even think about mixing it! First mix Tannerite the classic way, then put it on a heep in the middle of a newspaper page and mix it by lifting the corners one by one and rolling the mix into itself or simply mix the KCLO4 with the Aluminum powder in the above mentioned ratio. Don´t use any container or mixing utensils that could result in a static discharge!
Do NEVER use KCLO3, that makes it way too sensitive and be maximum careful even with the KClO4 - don´t make more than 100 grams of this stuff, this will make at least ten cool airgun targets. Be sure to be at least 20 yards away per 100 grams and that there is no dangerous debris around the target area that could come flying back at you.
Remember that you want to have fun and Injuring or killing yourself isn´t fun. You are fully responsible for your own actions!

I like blocks of wood. When I have scrap wood from somewhere, such as crown molding left-overs, 2x4 scrap, plywood scrap, etc. Just cut them into short lengths with a miter or table saw, then stand them up somewhere. Or drill them and hang them from a tree branch, so they don't have to be reset each time. That gives the added challenge of shooting them when moving in the wind.
They are animated when they get knocked down, and they are also fun to analyze later; see how deep the pellet went in and such. They can take MANY hits from low-powered airguns before they're blown apart or too full of lead.
Milk gallons or gallon paint cans at 100 yards standing offhand are fun. It's a challenge for a springer, less so for PCP.
I agree with the original poster, in that lower powered airguns often make better guns for these targets. What the fun in blasting a hole through a plastic soda bottle with so much power that it barely moves? A wadcutter pellet at ~400 fps really makes a noise and sends it flying.
Another one, and I have plenty of these: wine corks! They're VERY resilient to low powered airguns, but they really go flying when hit. I need to start using eye screws and string with mine, so I can find them.

I've posted this one before, but I haven't taken any pictures of blown up chalk since, SOOOOO, CHALK!
With two 8 year olds running around we have an ABUNDANCE of this big block chalk hanging around, so I snag a piece or two whenever they leave it out.
If its dry it "explodes" really nice and pints the ground around it while making a nice colored cloud, so you have two visual indicators.
