I agree. I used to hunt rats at night with this setup. Had a red light on my hat which I turned to shine down my sights. Killed hundreds over a few years at my father in laws pig farm. Hobby pellets seemed to be the best for the close range shooting I was doing. Shooting premiers I often hit black birds at 50 yards. The gun is very accurate. They are a pleasure to shoot.Nice. Looks like my two, except left handed stock. Those guns are made for iron sights. I have Gehmann adjustable diopters in my receiver sights.
It's probably been close to 50 years ago, I killed a crow in a tree over my father-in-laws garden at about 60 yards, At that time I just had a Williams receiver sight with the standard diopter installed.I agree. Your checkering friend does great work. Those little plain patches within the pattern are difficult, not to mention the double border lines. This bottom picture shows the parallel "corn rows" nicely, which is the benchmark of precision checkering. That's real artwork, right there. Nice gun, too, BTW.I ordered one of SC stocks a few years ago, (Bastogne Walnut), for my 124. At the time, he was applying stippling to the pistol grips. I had him leave that off, and had my checkering friend check it up a bit.
I still think these rifles are overall, the best of the production spring guns of the past.
