Hi, I have just joined the forum after seeing these beauties! I came across a lefty FWB 300S Universal at a steal, but I am a righty.. So I brought a 300s stock from Germany to restore, and may hold on to the lefty stock, or restore it. Would there be any demand for a LH 300s U stock only?
They are such a lovely gun to shoot, the engineering is great and surprisingly easy to strip down considering all the pieces!
Also, saw this: JonnesCame out well mate! Did you follow up on that trick for a deeper black on the stippling? Because it sure looks like it. Those things are sooooooo much fun to work on.
Apart from the marker, what was the tip for deeper black?
No need , just do the rest of the stock . And when all but the last coat is done . Just clean stippling with a soft brush . Then color it and apply last coat over entire gun .
Thanks, I got flack from a few guys when I said I would contour the cheek rest and grip to be ambidextrous, hence the sourcing of a RH stock. The universal stock is just much prettier!
Latest mini restore . I'm liking the Barnwood finish the more I do it . Haven't been blessed to rebuild many lately . But was able to get this one done for a member here who I think is gonna really like it
I can't believe nobody commented on the beautiful ( and unusual ) shooting bench Joe has. I guess when looking at the gun eye candy it's easy to miss. LOL
