I came close to buying a 1991 build, FWB 65 MK II last week ( a real closet Queen ) . Only reason for not purchasing it is I couldn't mount a scope on it. With my glaucoma I have difficulty shooting with iron sights.
Yes, and they shoot electronically guided .50 cal. rubber bullets that can fly around corners searching for Canuck's that constantly make dumb remarks.
Anyways, nice @bouddha! Looks like she's in pristine condition. These match pistols (made for the 10-meter air pistol discipline) shoot at around 5.5 ft/lbs and slightly over 500 ft/s. Extremely accurate too! I've been on the lookout for a Feinwerkbau 103 for a while now, also extremely nice to add to the ever growing collection.
Not everyting, but I've been in the business of shooting recreationally, professionally and as a sporting shooter for well over 30 years now. I do know everything about those .50 cal rubber plugs though. Those effing things hurt like a mother when they hit you in the furry brown bahookie!
I've owned the predecessor of the FWB90, the FWB65. It's like a mini FWB300. The only thing I didn't like about that air pistol was the pot metal they used. I broke mine dropping it on the floor bouncing back from a concrete brick. But then again, those things weren't made for dropping on concrete, but for pushing lead down range accurately at 10 meters...
Thanks, jonnes...and I meant to say FWB103 rather than the two cocking lever 102. Watching too many shooting videos! I also have the Beeman 850 version of the Diana 6M that should be here this weekend (refurbed by a friend in WA).
Looks great bouddha. From what I read, there were about 20,000 model 90's produced. Would like to own one myself and compare trigger to the model 65 and 80. Congrats on the new addition to your collection.
If I remember correctly, the little bumper visible when the gun is open for loading (and looks like a pencil eraser?) is used to activate an interlock to prevent the gun firing when the action's open. I have a 65 and a 6m. Although they are both a joy to shoot, the overall quality of the FWB is much superior.
Absolutely...the FWB is a marvelous piece, but the 6M is a very nice plinker and novelty shooter. The cocking stroke on the 90 is sublime, the Beeman is like changing a tire on a split rim truck wheel. But it do shoot nice.
