FWB C10 custom with Neil Clague

I bought this FWB C10 from a buddy a few months ago. It was used to win some silhouette titles back in the late 80’s and had been retired for many years. A few days after getting it and shooting it all the old seals let go. 

While waiting on seals I added the bipod mount and had Neil Clague work his magic to make it essentially silent. It had a big bark for such low power.

The scope is an old Leupold boosted to 40X by Premier with their fine crosshairs. The scope mount is custom made and notched to allow the grip to be canted for a taco style hold. I believe both were original to how it was used 30 plus years ago.

The grips were almost solid brown from all the hand oil. After cleaning them up and re-oiling them I was really pleased to see such nice figure in them.

I finished putting it back together yesterday and started playing with pellets to see what it likes. I was surprised that it does not like the JSB 8.4 but shoots the Hades 10.3 great. Attached is one of the testing groups of five shouts at about 25 yards.

I have tried to nail down a date but there isn’t a whole lot of information I could find. This model is the second Co2 pistol from FWB so guessing mid 80’s.



The Buddha was my grandmothers. I remember playing with him when I was a little kid.

That is a sweet pistol! That Neil Clague mod is icing on the cake. Does the bolt probe cock the pistol or does it cock separately?

The bolt cocks on opening. It even has a small lever to lock the bolt for dry fire practice, not that I will ever use it.



These old pistols may not make the power of the sporter pcp pistols available today but the build quality it top shelf. A fill is good for about 200 shots and a bulk 25lb of co2 is almost a lifetime supply.

That is some excellent build quality for a co2 pistol from the 80s. Thanks for sharing

Not ideal co2 weather today in SoCal, mid 50’s and breezy but I have been itching to stretch the legs on this old pistol.

Five shot groups at 40 yards. Groups between dime and quarter size. I thinking on a calm day in the 70’s and it should be even better.

Did a bit more shooting with it today. I moved my portable bench back giving my 59 yards. Starting at 450fps ChairGun says it is doing 324fps at that distance. 40 yards seems to be about the max before things destabilize and fall off.



10 shots at 23. The group looks bigger than it actually is, each strike just chipped more paint.

30 shots at 46 yards. The small magnet is 3/4 of an inch.

And last, 30 shots at 59 yards. All 30 did hit the paddle,

That pistol is a treasure! Nothing more satisfying than shooting a spinner at 60 yards with a pistol lol. Awesome gun. You’ll have to put out bait at 40 yards and shoot flys this summer! Thanks for sharing.
