FWB FWB mod 65 part ?

I took out my FWB 65 the other day and somehow the retaining pin for the front sight has gone missing and the sight is freely movable at the end of the barrel. I looked on Waffencenter Gotha and found the part which was not too expensive until shipping was factored in. Is this my only option for getting this part?

IS it just a straight pin ? like a drill bit ? maybe you can find a drill bit to fit ?

That is a great idea but I would rather go with OEM if I can. If it comes down to 50 euro for shipping vs. drill bit, I would probably try the bit just to see if I could get it to work. The original part has a tapered flat spot ground into it which I could probably replicate well enough. I am not really sure what holds it in place though. Does the flat area make it act like it is tapered?

could you make one sure buy some stock and grind away and fit or just bite the bullet and buy one

Waffencenter is a great place if and only if you have a real order to make the shipping work out otherwise there shipping has gotten too high, well it has been too high for a long while great people but the shipping out of Germany with DHL being there mail service and it has nothing to do with DHL in the states

well a hammer yes but a small brass hammer in the range of 6 OZ just a tap or two
it is hard to believe the pin came out i have seen that the front sights over their long period of time on the barrel are firmly in place but of the sight is loose and can be taken off i would do that and clean everything before reinstalling
see that the Ebay seller that sells many FWB parts has them in stock and that pin they will fall out and or become missing
i would guess a brass punch and hammer will do as well and an extra set of hands
