FWB FWB P85 Multi Shot

The Steyr LP50 trigger isn't bad. It just isn't quite as good as the best triggers on single shot pistols. Personally I have no problems using the LP50 for precision target shooting. I might loose a few points in a 60-shot match, but it won't be a dramatic difference.
The best thing would be if you could test these guns your self, but I guess that might not be very easy to do?
Yes. I'm not sure many are in the US yet, much less near me here in Tardistan (Kalifornia).

Then I think the smartest thing you can do is try to get a second hand LP50. If you don't like it, you can sell it for the same price you bought it for. And as Gwelo mentions, you can get trigger units with different trigger weights, several types of grips and Weaver-type mounts for the LP50. And if you live well with an LP50, I think you can also live well with a P85 if you consider it a a later point.

a sight riser might be your only option to clear the lever and with that you could cantilever over the area where the mag goes

what is the center line to lever interference if it is very close to nete net it could be hard for a clamp on to would where as a screw mounted one could but drilling holes in a new pistol sound bad

What grip is shown here? Maybe the one from your P8X? Thought you got the orange laminate?
Yes, that's the grip for my P8X. The postal service was rough when they handled the package with the P85, so a small piece of the wood on the grip had come loose and the rear sight holder was a little bent when I got it. So I'm waiting for a new grip and rear sight holder. Luckily the rear sight itself and the rest of the pistol were undamaged. I just moved over the grip and rear sight with the holder from the P8X.

That's one way to go. From the center line of the block to the lever there is a little over 10.5mm available.
I'm working on a solution with a Weaver rail that is narrow in the area where the lever is, and extends a distance forward over the barrel. I have a hope that this will work out and look OK, and not lift a scope or a red dot sight way to high over the center line.

well i know how i would do it
aluminum block on top of the dovetail to the height of the cross bar it appears you have one screw hole in front and a hole that a pin could be used they sell 10 inch weaver mounts on Ebay i have use them all the time
now you need one hole for the base and that makes it easy and use epoxy to mount the weaver base
when gluing drill 2 mm pockets in both side of the gluing area it will never come apart
here a couple mounts i make for an Aeron Brno B96
