FWB65 MkII (short barrel?)

I found my old (1976 or so) FWB65 that I bought in college. One apt. I had due to unusual layout gave me a good 10m for shooting. Many pigeons also experienced its wrath in my then urban environment. I don't have any .177 ammo at the moment so cannot really test it out yet but surely it will need new seals and probably mainspring. My pistol has the "Sportsman" grip and I would really prefer a match grip if that could be bought. The question is rather or not all the parts can be located and if so would the work be unusually hard for me to do myself? For reference I do tear down and repair/clean camera lenses including Hasselblad. Now if it is more art than science then an experienced smith would probably be smarter. Again, are these pistol easy to put right, and are there any proven smiths on them?

Dave Slade and Scott Pilkington highly recommended. THAT is ONE FINE PIECE of GERMAN ENGINEERING you got there my friend. Let a PRO take care of it for you. Yo!

Email sent. Might get him to reseal my MCT before it leaks (I so hate to ship long guns, I use hardcase but never have the right kind of boxes!)

I have a couple of 10 to maybe even 15 year old Daystate McD's that haven't sprouted a single leak to date but I only fill everything to 3000psi MAX no matter what gun and what their MAX FILL is rated at. Don't want all them seals screaming bloody mercy all the time. But that's just ME. If you insist on throwing away your money before who knows when it will leak then send it in without its stock. Yo!

Well I've twice had to tighten the foster fitting with it's dowty washers. Put in heliboard years ago--pretty cool gadget from clever greek EE. I would like a new barrel, maybe polygonal. Presently a 30 shot group will wander progressively (POI) in a circle of about 1" at 55yds. Any given sequence segment of 5 shots will be a 3/8th inch group. With/without shroud, or reflex and does not track with pressure or with velocity. I loosened and tightened every screw I could find. Different scopes. It looked very much like something was mechanically orbiting in a 1" circle. I don't even have a hair brained theory.....

At this point with firearms I rebarrel so why not airguns-

Yes Yo, I did all of the above. I started with the tissue paper over breech when single firing to check for probe O ring leaks and then on to every variation of shroud/no shroud (really loud) and remove and replace barrel and work on all the screws as well as doing a little bedding to stock with paper shims. I shot over chrono to see if velocity tracked in any way with POI. Then with tank pressure. Sorted pellets no better as far as rotating POI but maybe infinitesimal improvement shot to shot. All for naught.

On the FWB65 I did email Dave Slade and within the hour he actually called me. Born in America and raised in UK, only to return to America. I forgot to ask him if he likes his beer warm or cold! As soon as I round up proper packing the gun is off to him. Meanwhile I watched videos on rebuilding pistol and while I'm sure I could do it, it would be far from simple, especially if something were damaged or barely out of tune. If I had several of these pistols to do then the learning curve would be worth it--for just 1 not so much. He told me the target stocks are out of production and mostly not to be found😞. I'm pretty sure my brother could make me a set---wish he liked me more.....

I recently got my Beeman 850 ( same as the Diana 6M) pistol back from David Slade. Work was done , and now the pistol is up and running. I have an air gun friend who builds great grips. I will contact him if the demand is out there , but must give him a heads up. Here is a picture of the pistol mentioned , with his grips. Also my daisy 747 with his grips. They fit like a glove. He makes a match grip that has a extention that braces against the wrist.

At least it should be good for another 20-30 YEARS after you get it back. Try shooting H&N Baracuda through your Air Wolf see if you still got accuracy issues.

Yo I tried baracudas when I 1st got the AirWolf and it didn't like them. Have the pellets changed in 7 years? The testing was before I had the heliboard installed so I was not able to do any velocity tuning which now I can. Bigger question: Maybe I should get a new barrel, maybe polygonal or such, especially if I can get one already milled to fit my gun as a drop in. I can mill and lathe if I have to but I've done very little machine work. I often wonder what my life would have been like if I had acquired basic machining equipment as a youth. I had all kinds of guns (mil surplus mostly) which I did repair and modify using drills and files. If I had real tools back then my life with guns would have been so much more interesting.

Beautiful work. David Slade might be the agent for your friends grips as I'm guessing he is one of if not the go to for such guns as yours and mine. How fast are your pistols? I think I remember the Daisy match guns being around 320fps or so and no idea on the 6M.
