there is a superior heavy liner for about 2 years now it shoots good with 13 and 16grain slugs . but the twist rate is a bit slow at 1:18

Yes the heavy liner, though it will not allow you to shoot heavy slugs.
Mine do 13 gr very fine, but 16 and 20 gr Zan i can not get it to do nearly as good, i have also tried 16 gr H&N also did not work.
15 gr NSA might work well they did in the standard barrel, but i have not tried heavier NSA slugs, that brand are also a lot more expensive here in EU ville.
I would be very interested in another more slug minded barrel CUZ the STD and heavy barrel exactly same twist rate, which in any other caliber is not the case with FX barrels.
Regarding 13 gr Zan, well the difference between my STD superior barrel and the heavy superior barrel is minimal, so really getting the heavy barrel was a waste of money CUZ i can not shoot heavy.

I do think the heavy is made a little different, but other than that i see no difference, and i do think little .177 slugs need to spin faster just like .22 - .25 - .30 do.
So FX get off your behind and stop stringing .177 shooters along.
As i recall regular STX barrel in .22 is 1:24 just like .177, but then its heavy liner is 1:16 twist rate, so .177 heavy should also be 1:16 at least.

Sorry brain poop here the STX superior heavy .177 barrel is indeed 1:18, either way it is not cutting it with heavy slugs, at least not the ones i have tried.
Problem for me is i have seen one of those South African guys shoot .177 on his impact and H&N slugs, i think both 16 and 20 grain and shoot them well.
But i trieds his setting of 150 bar and even all the springs and hammers i have for the maverick, and nope,,,, just nope.
My buddy viking airgunner he have some luck with the 16 gr Zans but no dice with the 20ties, and i think he also tried NSA slugs too.
had to pull, and now that i am here clean.

Sounds like I might need to find a LW barrel and machine it to fit..

I think fx or someone should just manufacture a drop in, known, good LW slug barrel to fit the impact and related guns fx makes. I think that there would be a decent amount of people who would buy. At the very least for the .177 market

The LW barrels i can find in .177, just have 1:17 twist rate, so almost the same as FX barrels, the only different factor i can think off making CZUB or LW barrels better would then be the lack of a choke, or the actual way the rifling are made CUZ it is after all different from FX.
it could possible be nice to also have some diameter choice in .177 slugs, there are none, you get the 1 size in 1 weight and that's it.

i was scrolling through LW website and i found this ,traditional riffling and IMO it shoots better with slugs than the polygonal
