FX 500 barrel cleaning

I started to clean the barrel on my newly acquired FX 500 with the same Crown Saver Ive been using on all my other guns but it's too short. I'm going to get the 36" CS but I'd still like to know what's involved in removing the shroud in case I need to at some point.

At the base where it attaches to the barrell apply a little heat and twist off, held on with lock tite

Personally I would not attempt to remove the shroud. Easier to take off than to return to it s original configuration. Have 
patience and purchase a longer crown saver.

Yea Tony, I saw that procedure online and I'm out! lol. I think Mccollum79 has something he's wanting me to try. I also have another Crown Saver on order as well. Thanks guys., Oh, I shot it today and I don't thing it needs cleaned just yet anyway. It shoots great..
