you pay 3-4 times the price for a PCP than a powder burner,the ammo for a powder burner cost way more than price of pellets or PCP slugs.The slugs are special to me because they are for a specialized purpose ...like to hunt or long distance shooting....Thought,$1500-$2000 and a lot more for a PCP setup.

I love options,the more the better,l it is not like your married to one air rifle or pellet choice,you know you like playing around with your"toys"and the more you play around with One toy the better you know that toy and what it needs to perform.

FX Hybrid Slug in .22 caliber. 10.1 cents per slug with PA buy 3 get 1 free plus AGN discount.

NSA. 5.4 cents per .22 caliber slug for similar weight NSA. 


Shipping charges similar. 

Are they that good that they’re worth double? I’d guess it’s up to you... ;)

My plan on testing would be to try all the NSA slugs in your caliber with the sample pack. Then once you find what works best, fine tune it by trying it at various speeds. If you just can’t find an NSA slug that works in your gun, try the FX Hybrids. That’s the testing method that makes the most sense to me. IMHO

Funny how these look identical to Rat Sniper hybrid slugs...check out his Facebook page and you'll see these are likely rebranded Rat Sniper slugs or else why would he share about it?

And at those prices I'll stick with NSA

They are absolutely Michael Hossack’s product. FX locked him down. Good for him $ and good for FX. FX has always looked to corner things up.

Too expensive though..............My Eddy loves NSA’s new offerings 💪🏼

Fx said these will shoot great with the stx barrel. But will it shoot great or even better out of the fx slug liner? They are a bit expensive compared to nsa. So I will wait till price goes down. These need to be released in counts of 300 for like $18-20. Cause that's what nsa slugs are price at. Prymaid air have the h&n slugs for about same price but double the count. Is it just me or fx price their stuff base on brand name. Cause guns they sell are 1000-2000. And their mag are $50-80, other companies price their mags at $10-15. And now they have expensive slugs.

Between the rifles, optics and compressors, the price of these slugs aren’t a major concern. Some people pay more on the sales tax of a rifle or scope than they will on pellets/slugs for the length of their ownership.

Uhm, yeah, my complaining about the slug prices was heard through not purchasing any. I am now buying NSAs. I’m betting since they’ve gotten the high speed machines and subsequent lower pricing, they are seeing a huge spike in business.

People were complaining about nsa price back then. That is why he drop his price down. And now he have faster machines to make them for demand. He can afford the lower cost. Fx will lower their price too. If not most people will not buy them when you can get 300-350 nsa for 4 bucks more. Also who pays tax on airgun? Maybe you. But I buy all my guns on prymaid air and airgun depot and I can tell you its tax free and free shipping on orders $150 and up. And if you use nation code or wait for sale. You can get 10-15% off. I guess you buy your airguns at wal mart? Cause wal mart will tax you. Lmao

I think it depends on which State you live in. When I order from PA they charge tax. I live in MI.

I guess I'm special then. Woot free shipping, no tax, 15% off. I bought my fx impact from airgun depot few months ago. Got free shipping, but cant apply code for fx gun. So paid $1999. Man sucks to pay tax on such an expensive item. Imagine the tax on a $2000 gun. O.O

I view the use of slugs is for long range shooting and pesting, therefore I would not consume too many of them. For anything less than 100 yards, why not stick to pellets? I'm not going to use slugs for shooting tin cans and plinking, that's for sure.

I spoke to Jon at FX-USA prior to the Hybrid-Slug debut. He told me :

  • This project does involve Michael Hossack of Rat Sniper Slugs. But these are made using high speed machines that involve a well known firearm bullet manufacturer, RMR Bullets
  • The Optimum speed to shoot the Hybrids is between 920-940. But results are still very good at lower speeds as well
  • These Hybrid Slugs shoot best out of standard STX pellet liners. Shooters do NOT need to buy a STX Slug liner. Only use standard STX pellet liners for the .22 caliber Hybrid Slugs that are being released
  • We have found these Hybrids do shoot well out of other manufacturers rifles as well. Results may vary and none are as good as out of the FX barrels.

I'm the same way, I don't consume alot of slugs or really pellets either for that matter. My opinion is based off that fact, I'm sure people shooting hundreds a day might be more concerned about slug prices.

I wonder if part of the cost of these FX slugs includes royalties to Michael for the collaboration? Either way, it’s awesome to see something like this where I don’t need to change my barrel.

When NSA first hit the market, his prices were just as expensive as FX. Hopefully FX’s price will come down with time and maturity of the manufacturing process, otherwise I don’t see them doing too well in the market long term.

While it’s hard to argue against the performance edge these FX slugs provide. And those “cute” 100 count primer boxes. Until they at least triple the shot count and keep the price under $20. I’m sitting it out, my pellets will have to do.

You seriously haven’t tried nielson slugs yet? They literally have exactly what you asked for “triple the shot count, under $20, and not in a primer tray” lol
