Does the new fx barrel tuner that you can attack to the barrel ( or shroud included) do the same job as fine tuning the velocity with the hammer spring tension at a given tune at the knee or is it different ?

No experience with the platform but it seems one is fixed (a lot of random weight?) and the other is designed as a variable tuner. Certainly possible that I'm missing something. I'm sure others will set the question straight.

A barrel tuner, changes the harmonics of the barrel. The harmonics being the vibrations in the barrel. The barrel tuner is weighted and indexes to adjust. Think tuning fork, strike it against something and touch it to change the vibration.

Yes, it does the same thing but in a different way. The tuner doesn’t increase accuracy per se, it simply makes tuning the gun easier for the best accuracy. Without it, you have to use the hammer spring to increase or decrease velocity in an attempt to hit the node. With it, you can simply adjust the dial, moving the weight, changing the harmonics to help hit the node. Make sense? Have a good one!
