Tuning FX - barrel tuner vs barrel tensioner

I was resisting buying that barrel tuner for a good long time and got it only when everybody had at least one ... I got one for my .25x700mm barrel.
Then after several months the barrel tensioners surfaces, me again playing smart and not buying it yet, but so far I cannot say the tuner is/was a wooow improvement.
My current winter project is about swapping my MK2 barrels from .25x700 to .22x600 , and of course the 700 tuner doesn't work - without chopping the length...or get a new 600 tensioner ...
Now my question to people who have both the tuner and the tensioner ... obviously one works better then the other one ...
Which one is placebo and which one really works better?

I know that I can tighten the "barrel integrated tuner" on my 700 barrel,
but I am bringing in a new shorter 600 barrel,
and I need to buy again one - any - either a shorter barrel tuner ($210 CAD) or a shorter barrel tensioner ($50 CAD).
In my eyes the very first that blinks up is a price difference, $210 vs $50 (in Canada).
This why my question: "is that a placebo effect that you feel soo good spending 4x the money, or the tunner is really four times better" ?? :)
