FX carbon sleeve not tight?!

Im installing a carbon sleeve on the DRS. Its the same "setup" as on Panthera and other FX

Im doing it to eliminate POI and to stiffen the liner/barrel system.

But look here at the video
There is slack. The sleeve kan move from side to side inside the tube/barrel. Its not the liner that moves inside the sleeve (its a tight fit) - its the sleeve that moves inside the tube/barrel

Should I eliminate that and how do I do that?

It isn't supposed to be tight. It just takes up extra space.
I have several in different Cals and liners and barrel housings and all of them are a snug interference fit. I think its just the nature of getting a supply of cheap CF tubing from over seas, there is a degree of variance. I can say if mine were loose or just taking up space they are pointless; and my first CF sleeve would be my last. But some of them were actually kinda tight and took some effort to slide into the housing or the liners into the CF sleeve. Just a guys opinion, but to me that means they are working the way I want them to.

I'm sure you're right. Mine isn't loose, but it isn't so snug you have to beat it in either. I think that is what some people think it's supposed to be. It really just keeps the barrel from flexing as much by taking up space.

so I guess I thought the Drs barrel was the inside of the air tube, but it sounds like from the conversation that there's a liner slid into a tube going through the reservoir.. so if that's the case, can you swap calibers on the liner and probe so that you could get a 177 and then later if you want 22 just swap parts without messing with the air tube?
what calibers are available for the Drs?
thank you
Mark

The barrel housing in the DRS seals to the air cylinder with o-rings at the end of the air cylinder and attaches to the breech block on the other end. Changing just a barrel liner to get a different twist rate requires degassing and disassemble of the air cylinder. Changing caliber is a bit more involved than just swapping the liner and probe because you also have to change the brass end piece with the transfer port and the retention screw on the other end of the barrel housing. The barrel housing is the same for all calibers, but both ends are caliber specific. If FX decides to sell caliber change kits for the DRS it will be interesting to see how they do it. The barrel/cylinder can not be removed from the DRS as a single unit like it can on other FX airguns because the back of the air cylinder attaches/seals to the breech block. It's not as easy as loosening 1, 2 or 4 grub screws and pulling the whole thing from the breech.

I originally thought that the barrel was the inner tube for the air tube but sounds like it's a tube with a liner.. seems like it would have been better to use a actual barrel instead of tube and liner since it sounds like it has to be disassemble to even change the liner to a different twist..
guess if they were going to use a liner, seems like it would have made things easier to have a way to not disassemble the air tube and just take off the end cap and some type of retainer on the block.. would have made for easier barrel and caliber changes.. unfortunately it sounds like it is a good gun, but pretty complicated like most FX that I have seen.. not saying that it's bad, just more parts and seals to deal with if you decided to work on it..
I actually prefer to just shoot out of the box.. but sooner or later it's going to need repair..
I have a American tactical liberty nova 22 that I got a o ring kit for because it slowly leaks down over two weeks to regulator pressure.. but I haven't gotten the ambition yet to reseal.. would be nice if AOA who I bought it from serviced them.. so far I haven't found any airgun shop yet.. probably do it myself when it either gets worse or I get out of things that need fixed yesterday..
I got into the airforce Condor and I really like it's simplicity and well there's a company that has a lifetime warranty..
