FX Crown Air Bottle question

The mains seal is inside of the bottle valve. An oring that seals to the top of the bottle adapter. There is also a steel cased rubber oring in the end of the receiver that the bottle butts up against, but I don't think it's there to create a seal.
I have seen the encased o-ring in the receiver. Is the o-ring inside the bottle obvious and easily removable?

Do I have an o-ring inside my bottle neck?

The gun is brand new and it does have quite a bit of oil down there. I was scraping the threads with a fine pick and there was quite a bit of metal filings. I bought it from Pyramyd Air and paid for the 10 for $10 which was supposed to be a leak check. When I air it up to 250 BAR/3000psi it leaks off to around 1000psi. I spoke with Patrick at PA and he recommended I take off the bottle and swab it with a q-tip then re-oil and air it back up and shoot it. It still leaks. He recommended I call FX. I got a photostatic copy of a target with 10 shots, but I doubt they gave any time to checking for leaks. If anyone is willing to check their bottle to see where the o-ring is I would be grateful, but I realize it is asking alot to de-gas then air back up just to help out a newbie.

Yet another good member of the airgun community getting screwed by pyramid air. I would send it back. I’ve had many FX air rifles come through my hands, both used and new, and NONE have leaked from the bottle. It is the dealers responsibility to make sure the gun is in proper working order when it leaves their warehouse. Pyramid has been known for rough shipping, and horrible customer service. If I could, I would be sending it back for a refund, and buying from a more reputable dealer. Good luck!

I finally tracked down the leak in my brand-new Crown. It is coming from the threads on the bottle pressure gauge. Being new I did not want to take apart the rifle without help from FX service Tech. It took a week to finally receive a call back from FX (out of N.C.) and "Bryan" walked me through everything. He had me fill the gun to 200 bar, and I could not find any leak with the soapy water method. Neither gauge showed a leak. The bottle did not leak. I could hear no air escaping. After hanging up the phone with FX, I decided to air the gun to max 250 bar and to let it sit overnight as Bryan suggested. Immediately though I could hear the air hissing as it escaped. I reapplied the soapy water to the threads on the bottle pressure gauge and the bubble appeared. Called back to FX and Bryan said they would send me new o-rings for it. I learned alot about disassembling the gun, so it was worth the wait. Going to be another 7-10 days to get my new o-ring in the mail.

Bryan did confirm there is an o-ring inside the bottle neck in the location above, pointed out by the red arrow.

I had the same issue as you did with a new Crown leaking out of the box. I too thought it was the bottle leaking but it wasn't. It was leaking underneath the high pressure air gauge near the bottle. All it took was tightening the gauge about an 8th of a turn. However, tightening Crown gauges is a PITA because they are round and the space underneath requires a very thin 11mm wrench. I ground down a 7/16 wrench on a bench grinder to make it skinny enough to fit the square nut under the gauge. FX enjoys "user unfriendly" designs to discourage owners to fix problems on their own.
