Hello. I bought a new FX CROWN continnum and want to shoot slugs far within 100 yard and accurately. I have a huma regulator and fx smooth twist x barrel slug A liners 700mm. I've tested slugs in NSA 6.35 - 33.5 grains and 36.2 grains. I tested from 800 fps to 970 fps. And just 36.2 grains at 850 fps 50 yards fired well, but when I tried 100 yards it was bad. Maybe you need to test all speeds with 100 yards? Maybe someone has the same rifle with fx smooth twist x barrel slug A liners 700mm and managed to adjust?

When you find a speed that the slugs do extremely well like one jagged hole at 50 then try them at 100. If they don't do well at 100 try another speed at 50 until it does well then try 100 again. I have the same barrel, liner and reg as you but in an Impact and have shot the NSA 33.5 HP at less than MOA at 100 yards at several velocities from 740fps to 940+ fps. I spent many hours and over 400 slugs finding Nirvana on my first try. Then I changed velocity, pellets or the gun internals so had to do it again and again. Each time I came upon a velocity that did extremely well like three shots through one hole at 30 yards then I shot at 100. If it did not shoot MOA or better at 100 I started over at a slightly lower velocity at 30. I did this over and over until I reached Nirvana each time. It takes time, patients and lots of air and slugs to tune yer gun just right.

Buy 20 more different types of slugs, you may find one that works in your gun, IME the same two seemingly identical guns, set up the same, can shoot the same slug type entirely differently.
Did you try the JSB 33g MKII Pellets in your gun at 100 yards? it is worth trying them for a reference point, also are you lubing the slugs at all?

Yes, you also need to try at 100y. They can look accurate and promising 30/40/50/60, but start hooking and slicing past that.

For me in my stock Crown Continuum 700mm barrel I started with the NSA 29's and below in weight. My thought was I should have enough power to keep these relatively lighter weight slugs stabilized. The 29 DB Hp's were shooting 1" at 82 yards the max distance on my home range. I also washed and lubed my slugs with silicone spray to reduce drag as many recommend. Bill

Thank you for sharing your experience. In Europe, only NSA slugs of 33.5 grains, 36.2 grains and 38.5 grains can be purchased in 25 calibers.

I can’t say this enough times . The bullets need to be sized to the barrel . You can’t just assume that the bullets are going to fit because someone said they will . .0001 “ in size can make a big difference in accuracy .
