FX Fx Crown: Front power adjuster doesn´t work properly

Hi all. I have a Fx Crown, caliber .22 and shoot 18 grain JSB Heavy Exact. I have experienced that the front power adjuster in the "Medium "position has more power, approximately 40-50 fps more, than in the "High" position... I can't figure out the reason why this happens. Thx for your help.

This has been discussed here many times.

The front wheel is a Transfer Port Size Adjustment, don’t think of it as a power adjuster.

When you set the size of the transfer port opening you are adjusting the size of the opening that the air flows through.

In your case, the medium sized opening is optimal for the way you have your rifle tuned.

The larger sized opening is actually a bit too large for your rifle’s current tune, and it is actually slowing the overall air velocity.

There may be a tune for your Crown where the largest setting is best (increases velocity). That tune may for example be when you are shooting 25.4g pellets at 900+ fps (and your regulator pressure and hammer spring preload are set higher than your current tune).

My Crown developed a problem with the front adjuster. The internal threads worked loose and the alignment of the internal ports no longer matched the labeling on the adjuster wheel. I dissassembled and realigned the parts, it then worked correctly.

Most of the current FX barrels are equipped with two transfer ports. One for pellets (which is a simple hole) and one for slugs (which is rectangular with a beam down the middle). If your barrel is set on the pellet side, the hole for the transfer port is smaller than the "High" opening. The medium setting is about as good as you're gonna get. Rotate the barrel 180 degrees to align the "slug" port on the barrel in order to use the "High" setting effectively. Something to check.

La mayoría de los cañones FX actuales están equipados con dos puertos de transferencia. Uno para perdigones (que es un simple orificio) y otro para balas (que es rectangular con una viga en el medio). Si su cañón está configurado del lado de los perdigones, el orificio para el puerto de transferencia es más pequeño que la abertura "Alta". La configuración media es lo mejor que puede obtener. Thx about suggestion. I tried it using pellets and the high transfer port, the MEDIUM choice continues being faster...I Think it's an issue of my Crown

Mi Crown desarrolló un problema con el ajustador delantero. Las roscas internas se aflojaron y la alineación de los puertos internos ya no coincidía con la etiqueta de la rueda de ajuste. Desmonté y realineé las piezas; luego funcionó correctamente.
