Awesome thanks a bunch guys. I did order an external filter with the pump also. I should be set to shoot it then when it comes. Super excited. Thanks for all the advice. See myself indulging in this forum a lot in the future.

Hi Feinwerk, im new too and I’m curious. how can one find out if there is moisture in the reservoir, and how does one get rid of the moisture from the reservoir?Awesome 1st air rifle choice!!
If you take it in the house to pump it, in an air-conditioned space as opposed to the garage or outdoors, you'll reduce the moisture that gets deposited in the reservoir over time.
I have only confirmed this once or twice while disassembling one of my pcp's for service and noticing some unusual residue and the beginnings of corrosion on internal parts on one of my rifles. I don't know of a real good test. Perhaps dry firing and pointing the muzzle at a clean surface, and then examining for deposited moisture?Hi Feinwerk, im new too and I’m curious. how can one find out if there is moisture in the reservoir, and how does one get rid of the moisture from the reservoir?
I fully understand best is to avoid moisture entering in the first place. Also im sure there is no moisture in mine yet (its new). But i am curious what the methods are.
Got an fx crown mk2 on the way and to start out have a hand pump coming as well with a moisture filter. Quick question is, is that all I should need to fill the pcp? Besides breath and elbow grease. Like, no extra fitting or anything special? Thanks in advance!
Definitely watch AEAC’s video before Patch Worming. He has some very good advice on not getting Ballistol where you don’t want it to go. You will most likely also need a McDonalds tubular coffee stir to stick in the muzzle to aid the Patch Worm in exiting the barrel. You’ll understand why the first time you thread the Patch Worm in the rifle. Make sure you remove the moderator first if you have one. Order extra Patch Worm patches too, you’ll eventually need more. And use a sharp scratch awl to make just a bit of a starter hole to get the pointy end of the Patch Worm started through it.Tig,
Well done, sir. Very frustrating getting everything together only to find you need that adapter, ask me how I know. Other than that, you should be good to go. New guns will come with barrel preservative inside that should be removed. I use Ballistol and Patch Worm to clean mine, like many members. Search in archives for further info or watch the AEAC video on Patch Worm and new barrel cleaning. WM
