FX CROWN MKII QUESTION

I was looking at my Crown the other day and noticed that the center screw ( see photo #2) was not tight. It was very easy to turn clockwise a half or three quarter turn but turned it back to where it was. Today I was looking at it again and on the opposite side of the receiver there is a screw exactly inline with the screw in the knob on the other side in the Power Knob (see photo #1)). It appeared loose too. I don’t know if they’re supposed to be tight or not.
I emailed FX but have not gotten a reply yet. Anyone know about the workings of that assembly ?

I spoke with Newman at FX USA this morning as email was going to be timely and back and forth many times. He told me that the two tiny “grub screws” as they must call them on the other side of the pond. Over here we refer to them as socket set screws. Anyway, those two set screws hold the knob to the shaft and should be tight. The screw that is in the face of the power knob is supposed to be tight and so is the one on the opposite side of the receiver directly in line with the one on the face of the knob. As he said, “not super tight” just adequately tight for the size screw that it is.
Newman said the right side screw holds the shaft to the receiver so I tightened that one first and was able to feel it lock down tight. Then I went to the knob side and discovered by tightening the right side, the knob side was now tight.
Thank you FX USA.

i use a long handeled allen wrench but i grab it from the short end and tighten if you do it from the long end you will get a little to much leverage and could sccrew something up if you tighten to much
I repaired scuba regulators and assemblies nearly as small as wrist watches for ten years. Rest assured I know and understand fastener torque.
