Tuning FX Crown MKII

So I picked up a Crown MK II .25, and ordered an FX radar chronograph. Some of the pellets in the magazine were damaged so I reduced the spring tension per instructions I found on youtube. I'm not sure the scope is mounted square--the horizontal and vertical reticle lines seems to be off verticle/horizontal a bit. But this should be fun. It doesn't have a moderator but it seems backyard friendly at the low power settings it came with, so I don't think I'll upgrade unless I find somebody in the western suburbs who wants to shoot.

Also got a FX 4-stage hand pump, but it doesn't seem to be as good as the Air Venturi MK5 Pump Kit by Hill Hand Pump I already have. I think I will check the seals on the FX since I do like the handle better (less painful than the MK5). I did add some pump grease to the FX 4-stage and that seemed to help.

I am thinking about getting the FX Crown Chassis from saber tactical or something else for a stable bipod mount.

I wonder if it can be converted to a .22 or a .177? Gotta do more research I guess.

The synthetic stock is not the strongest thing. I cracked mine behind the trigger guard pretty sure from loading weight onto the bipod with butt on a bag. (the picture above is within a month of when I got the gun) I'd recommend a hawke bottle clamp and bipod that mounts to a sling stud. If you get the chassis, you wont have to worry about any of this.

I have the Saber Tactical chassis on my MK2 Crown and I really like it a lot. It's so customizable for a perfect fit. The Arca rail on the bottom is perfect for tripod shooting. It is heavy but I shoot off of a bench or a tripod so I actually appreciate the weight for the added stability. Yes, you can change it to a .22 or a .177. The barrel kits are a little pricey but they give you a lot of flexibility. Mine is in .22 and it loves JSB 18.13 and the NSA 24.8 and 27.5 grain slugs

i have 2 mkII's (.22) and there both configured for different applications.

and both are very accurate, powerful and reliable. i could'nt be more happy !!

I upgraded my Crown MKII with an epoxied FX CF Sleeve, 3D-printed sleeve/shround spacers and a 3D printed Black Arts Design Barrel Band. Three spacers might be more than necessary but I had them so I used them.

I tested this evening on an old beef bone my dog had long sucked the marrow out of. Wow. It is accurate and powerful. It was only 25 yards and I didn't feel like getting out a target, and didn't chrono it today but guess it is still doing about 903 fps for the 25.39 grain pellets I was using for about 45 Ft. Lbs.. It was hitting exactly where I aimed, and destroying the bone. First shot split the bone in half, the second two shots shattered the two halves after I set them back up. It will definitely will do some damage to a squirrel skull. A heck of a lot better than my old daisy break barrel spring/air that was doing 6.5 Ft. Lbs at about 525 fps with 10.5 Gr. pellets. In comparison, this felt like a laser beam for accuracy.
