FX FX Crown question

I'm a big FX fan, and have two Royale's in .22 and used to have a Cyclone, so I'm interested in all their guns. My question is about the Crown. The barrel shroud moves in and out to moderate sound, but doesn't it change the point of impact when it's moved from all the way in and all the way out? Anything that hangs on the barrel will change impact? right? How do you deal with that?

Also, I've read all the news about FX USA, and I couldn't be sadder to hear it. Seems like wherever there's money, there's somone looking to steal it. I think almost every day, isn't there anyone honest anymore? It's sad to see such a great rifle, with a really cool back story of how it came to be, has to suffer such a hit. I sure hope they can recoup some of the loss from those responsible.

My understanding is the earlier liner system supports the extending shroud, whereas the newer Superlite barrel system does not.

Anything that hangs on the barrel will change impact?
Yes

How do you deal with that?
Pick either extended or retracted and develop your range card. Or make a range card for both extended and retracted.

The models for the last several years are not extending, so you may not have to worry about it.

The current stuff is the new style, has been for a few years. The end is not supported so you have to make sure your internal barrel buffers are towards the end otherwise you get crazy clipping (ask me how I know). I put on a carbon sleeve and had to take the buffers in place as they slid on me. Great rifle, i really enjoy shooting mine. You can use the older impact and crown liners as well, kind of an open platform. I have an older steel reinforced liner where it screws in on the end and will be testing that here soon. Any weight on the end changes POI anyway but even more so in these with the floating liner how it is.
