FX Cyclone ??

Great gun of the classic design with free floating barrel that never changes POI, you can ad a barrel support between air tube and barrel, have tried that but it do not ad to accuracy at all

All made with Walther choked Match barrels, very accurate, trigger brake like glass, one of the very first made with side lever action, very fast reload, 3 step power selector

Downsides: tiny parts, kind of delicate to work on but at least not a problem for me

Love it!

Here's a target shot with the Cutlas, I own both, exactly the same action as the Cyclone

I fill 220 down to 80 bar, power setting 1, 2 and 3, 5 shot in each group total 75 shot, distance 22m/24.5 yards

Hi, FX Cyclone in .22 calibre thumbhole stock, beautiful wood and chequering, thinking of fitting a Lane regulator for consistant shot accuracy.

That's a beautiful Cyclone! - Altaros also sell a reg. for the Cyclone/Cutlas

...but personally I enjoy and trust the first shot precision of a non regulated PCP

In the real world of regulator creep, Ed's one shot - one target poster is (for me) more like two shots, one in the ground, next on target

My first shot (after a day in the cabinet) from my Leshiy Classic is always a bit slow and low, ad to that a bit to the right if my power setting/pellet weight was on the high side - because of the left side hinged breech and right side spring locked latch the tail will wag the dog

The Leshiy 2 on the other hand, my first shot always go a bit high - because regulator creep have no effect on the fixed lock time of the servo valve system - but is spot on sideways because of the locked breech system

Here's so targets shot with my Cutlas, same action as the cyclone

Fx Cutlas (Cyclone) 48 shots, 1 mag = 8 shot each target, 32m-35y, 220 to 110 bar:

They are pretty sweet guns. Very efficient on air, and most were extremely accurate. Cocking action is slick and the magazine works great. Excellent lightweight and efficient hunting guns IMO.

The trigger is tiny pieced together nonsense, but it functions well enough. Breaks crisp, just not a lot of adjusting and not a true two stage.

The synthetic stocks had some tacky sponge rubber stuff stuck on that usually fell apart. The wood stocks were usually very nice, especially on the Webley branded ones.

The gun also has quite a few brass parts in it, and tend to be rather delicately built. But, they are lightweight and simple so there's a tradeoff there.

One tip, don't fire it with really low air pressure. It will usually wad up or bend the valve spring and cause it to jam up and not work.

Whats the best way to de-gas the cylinder, I was thinking of installing a regulator, so need to empty the cylinder completely to undertake this work.

Can it be dry fired down to a low pressure ?

The cylinder is removable under pressure. Then you can mount the cylinder in a padded vise and use a brass pin punch and hammer to "fire" the valve on the cylinder till it gets low enough to hold the valve in. Sounds sketchy, but it's how I do it. I don't even know if there was ever a degassing tool for these.

You can fire the gun down to a lower pressure first, and it should be fairly quick to empty on the bench after that. But be careful, firing it with too low of a charge can mess up the valve, found it out the hard way on mine. If I remember correctly, which I may not, I believe the manual said something about not dry firing below a certain pressure. Which obviously I did NOT read :)

Great guns and the easiest of the FX2000 based action actions to work on IMO because you can remove the cylinder. Ive got the Webley branded version the Spectre. It's well balanced and easy to carry. The points other posters made are all spot on. I don't play much with the power adjustor because I had to replace once, I just leave it on one setting.
