FX Dreamline .22 cal. lost lot of speed

Just a thought. The valve pin ( poppet) may have broke and is not opening completely. Probably a long shot but one other thing to check. Also make sure when you put your hammer in that you pull the trigger so it is going all the way forward. When I was assembling my Maverick after installing some internal parts I noticed I had to do this. Not sure if the Dreamline is the same but the cocking problem makes me wonder.

i am going to take the transfer port wheel off

the sound is quiter since the speed has dropped. but isn't that the norm. plus the lower speed is consistent i was also thinking that the reg. might be bad. that idea came across my mind several times.
today and go over it. i will let you all know if it was in the right place or not.
Depends what went wonky. If a breech seal went south you would have a velocity drop but probably a noise increase.

Reg messing up would cause both drop in velocity and sound.

thanks mike i will check the poppit valve and the hammer when my parts come in.

thanks wildcj5, think i mentioned it earlier that i installed a new breech seal but not the right hardness seal. i have the right seals coming in maybe tomorrow. I will install, then check to see it tissue paper is still blowing off at breech. it did blow off with the new buna 90 seal. so i want to put the buna 70 seal which belongs in there. As for as the reg. thing , i think i will just order me a new one that way it's one thing less off my mind to deal with. But what puzzles me is such a drop in velocity---from 865 to 670fps. That's a lot.

i put a new breech seal day before yesterday but all i had was a buna 90 it's the harder seal, and when i finished installing it i did the tissue thing and it still blew it off at the breech but not as bad. that's another thing that is bugging me. i have some buna 70 coming in tomorrow or day after. i will try a new buna 70 and see what happens.
Buna 70 or 90 won't make any performance difference. Buna 90 is better as it will not wear out as fast. If the breech o-ring is the correct size you should be getting minimal to no blowback. Sudden drops in velocity commonly happen when the breech seal gets blown out of it's groove. An improper size replacement would also allow some blowback.

HI Humdinger; i calls for 5.5mm x 1.5mm so that's what i have to install. but it still had some blow back. Not much but it did blow my tissue off the breech. I put the old one back because it really didn't make much of a difference. i'm talking slightly maybe 4 to 5 fps faster. Iwas gonna put the buna 90 back but i have about 25 buna 70 o-rings coming in. do you have a FX Dreamline ? Have you tried seeing if you have blow back at your breech. Maybe you can let me know if you do and how much thanks

I have 2 streamlines which are a very similar gun. The transfer port wheel can get bumped slightly off from where it is supposed to be seated for any given power wheel setting which will cause restriction which will cause low velocity. Sounds like what it is to me. Try rotating it back and forth and make sure it settles into the detent right where high power is. Maybe the hammer spring is broken or tweaked possibly if the above doesn’t fix it? 125 bar isn’t that high of a reg pressure. The stock hammer and spring should drive the valve sufficiently at that pressure unless something is wrong with them.
hi Trucker3573; is your transfer port similar to the dreamline. My transfer port is different from the new dreamline transfer port. I will try to send you some pics. Maybe you can see better than me to understand how to remove the transfer port wheel.
