FX Dreamline Classic. Upgrades and tune suggestions.

Not always. My 25cal Crown MKII can shoot JSB KO MKII"s 33.49's at 890fps 1/2 inch at 50.
Oh okay. This will be my second PCP I will ever buy. The first one is a piece of crap Hatsan. I and going to spend a lot more money to get a lot better PCP. I want an FX gun badly. I really want the Panthera but I figure baby steps first before the big guns. Pun intended. Is the Dreamline a good first step or should I do a different gun?

Anthony,
Why stress out an entry level FX Dreamline. I have had one as well. Please explain your point.

Patrick
The first PCP I bought was a Hatsan BT65 in .25 cal. I worked hard to buy it. Bought H&N pellets for it and it would not group at all past 20 yards. I want to do more research and spend my money on a good quality item. I also really like FX guns. So I am thinking of a FX Dreamline. A user friendly airgun but a excellent beginner/novice airgun. I also want a gun with some tuning as well.

Okay. What glass do you run on your setups?
Different one's, but I do like the Hawke Vantage 4-16 and 6-24 because it has the Red/Green illuminated option. I only have one good eye and it picks up green better in low light situations. I also have a Bushnell Match Pro 6-24 that is very good for the money as well. Also have an Athlon BTR 6-24 on a Maverick. They are all first focal plane (FFP).

The valving on the crown allows for more power. The power difference between the dreamline and crown is minimal but noticeable. If you want the highest power go with the crown due to the larger air capacity and valving. If you want to maintain a more traditional rifle styling with the air tube go with the dreamline. I understand the want to have a do it all rifle for your first high end rifle. However, if you are like most of us once you get the gun shooting lights out you probably won’t mess with it much. After being into high end pcps for a few years you learn exactly what your needs are. It is usually best to buy the gun that suits your needs/wants instead of trying to make a rifle something that it wasn’t made to do. Just from the comments i’ve read it seems like you would be better suited with the crown. Sometimes spending a bit more upfront will save you in the long run.

Intersting to read about the differences between the Newer and older Dreamlines.
I got a great deal on the older version Dreamline Lite and being I like to tinker?
I've been working on mine. I have no expectations of it being better then a Crown or Impact but I'm sure I can get it to shoot exactly how I want it to out to 150 yards in .30 cal

I got a 25 classic last year and have it in the Aeron FT stock which I think is the best upgrade you can do for them. There is a fully tuned one right now on the classified in the same stock that is the one I would get if I wanted one. Then get the FDE 0DB moderator on it to match and it would look very cool!

That one for Sale has the 700mm and He is a great person to deal with.
That thing is a steal for that price with all that he has been done to it PLUS the Aeron stock. Of the 6 FX rifles I own only the DL did I buy new from UA last year. If you only will be getting one air rifle (and really who can just have one lol!) then buy new but if you want a collection then buying used is the way to go IMO.
