FX Fx Dreamline - Short Throw Cocking Lever Install

I picked up a short throw cocking lever to reduce cocking throw length in my Dreamline. The oem cocking arm is attached to the pellet probe assembly via a pin. I have been unable to remove this pin so have not been able to switch to my new short throw lever. Anyone have any tips for safely removing this pin that attaches the cocking handle to the pellet probe assembly?

That lever doesn't actually reduce the throw just the length of the handle arm. They should call it a "short reach" instead of "short throw." They would have to change where the linkage connects to the cocking arm to change how much throw is needed to cycle the action. The pin just taps out. I have actually had mine fall out in the case so it is not in there very hard. Just need a punch and you can probably push it out by hand. Just support the link on something solid so you don't bend anything.

Awesome feedback. A short reach will be a huge improvement over the current long reach. Should allow me to cock a little quicker I’m hoping. Not having much luck with a punch so not sure if the pin was lock tighted in. I was able to support the assembly in my death grip tripod and have tried taping both sides with a punch and no luck. May have to apply some heat….

There is a screw that comes down from the top at the rear of the reciever that holds the cocking arm. Take that out then tap the pin that holds the linkage to the arm out. Fold the linkage into the probe holder and slide it out the back of the reciever.
