FX FX Dreamline ST Elite - Tunning Help

Hello there! I have an almost a month old FX Dreamline Saber Tactical Elite Model of .22 caliber. Out of the box, the Settings were 120Bar/Medium/17 (Regulator/Front Adjuster/Hammer Tension). I am using only 15gr and 18gr pellets and i think i am already on maxout of my settings and they are still below the 910fps recommended. Could you please see if i have to touch the regulator pressure now but on videos on youtubes some are already having even below 120bar Reg pressure but getting higher velocities.

Here are my Chrono Results adjusting only the Hammer for now:

@15.89gr JSB Hades
120Bar/Medium/17
823fps or 251mps

@15.89gr JSB Hades
120Bar/Medium/21
880fps or 268mps

@15.89gr JSB Hades
120Bar/Medium/23
900fps or 274mps

using heavier grain:

@18.13gr HN Baracuda
120Bar/Medium/17
816fps or 249mps

@18.13gr HN Baracuda
120Bar/Medium/23
850fps or 259mps

you have to make sure you have the correct hammer weight.

Turn the transfer port adjuster to high and re chrono.
strange that whenever i put it on High (some youtube videos also experience the same) the velocity drops. My theory to that is bec High = .23/.3 and Med = .22/.177. but i am not sure. i got better results on Mid always. Aside from the hammer which i think you have a good point, is there nothing to do with Reg Pressure too?

For the heck of it try low.

Yeah you are going to have to raise the reg pressure. I think the barrel port on a 22 barrel isn’t big enough to get any of the gains of the larger transfer port when set on high. You will have to raise the reg. The other possibility is some fx guns have two different port options on the barrel itself. You pull the barrel/shroud assembly out and look on the end to see if one side has a single hole and the other a dual hole. If so the dual hole will let more airflow.

Ya, I'd definitely not use a heaver hammer weight. Your regulator is way to low and you'll over hammer, only lowering your speeds. And causing your self more frustration.
How fast are you wanting to push the pellets?
There's a couple ways to get the speed.
First, you might want to check to see if your barrel has the double transfer port. FX uses a upper and lower transfer ports for AKA pellet and slug. If so, use slug.
Second, Double check to make sure the Transfer adjuster is opening correctly. It doesn't make cents why your speeds are faster on med.

After your confident every thing is correct. You now can start with the tuning process. There a couple different possibility's to build more speed. With out raising the regulator at first. And sacrificing shot count while making more noise.

Id start with adding the FX extra plenum kit.
Then, possibly longer barrel. (I usually expect to see 30-50FPS with every 100mm if barrel added.)

If all else fails you'll need to raise the regulator. Now, Scott's right saying with140bar. You definitely do not want to go any higher then 140 bar. I'd recommend you walk the regulator up slowly. Try raising it 4-5 bar, at a time. To reach your desired speed.

hmmmm sounds logical. yeah i would try that one out.

i wish my pellets to fly around 910fps. my FX has the plenum and has also the double transfer port. let me try all ya guys advices. cheers

If you are not pushing enough air fast enough, then yes the high transfer port setting will yield a slower speed. There is too much volume in the transfer port and not enough air to fill it. Need a higher reg seting or max out your hammer adjuster and start walking the reg setting up to make sure your velocity is going up. Go up by 5 bar at a time and take some shots. Stop when velocity levels out.
