Quote - hand out about a hundred of them to guys like us to put through their paces and push them to failure to see what gives… And then address those issues before the final release to the public
That I've got to agree with. Get a small production run out there, let people treat them like people do, fix the problems, and start major production runs. That's one way to solve lots and lots of problems from getting into the general public's hands.

Well, the design may have hiccups that need to be worked out. QC can't control design issues. I believe the Impact had a couple parts "Under-designed" that cropped up after some use. Those are the real problems to identify during shakedown

I was going to say the same thing. Quality control has nothing to do with engineering. Bad design is bad design.

To be fair to FX - The Impact was a radically new design in several ways. If I remember correctly, the main problem was a pin that was undersized and broke after some heavy use. FX did move to provide replacement parts, but as always it takes time to ramp up replacements and change production procedures.
I think a small production run and give it to the likes of Ted for a couple months to generally beat the tar out of it might have helped. that proves out the engineering with "Real Use"
With a bit over 30 years in computers, I learned early on (as does every system developer) that you can test and test and test and when you put a new system into production, the end users will do something you never expected and break something.
In the Oil and Gas industry (I miss being in the Natural Resources industries!) there's an old saying.
There comes a time when you have to shoot the chief engineer and put the field into production.
Eventually, even FX has to say, we've done all we can, and pray it's good enough for the humans that will use it in the end.
At least FX is better than many companies, they did fix the issue.

That said, the only real 'thing users did' with the impact that may have been an unexpected user error was incorrectly adjust the regulator?
Having the bolt probe shoot out of the back of the gun and injure the shooter's shoulder, as well as all the leaks etc are on them, 100%.
If a car company makes a new car and it has any dangerous issues, they recall them to be replaced or repaired. A 250bar pressurized gun should have pretty hardcore beta testing as has been said.

I’m definitely interested in the Dreamline and willing to be one of the first to put in my order once it’s available. I hope FX or some Airgun smith creates a Carbon Fiber bottle adapter. It would be sweet to be able to increase shot count, especially if they offer a .30 cal barrel.

If the Dreamline has many O rings and seals there will likely be leak prone.. The Streamline is designed to be simple and less complicated and also the higher the air pressure the more leaks will happen. Does anyone know about the internals? How many rings and seals?

On topic: the first Dreamlines are available in the Netherlands, and also (in Dutch; use google translate it translates fairly reasonable) I have made a non-commercial review on the dreamline lite in .22. Included is 110 yard multiple indoor and outdoor groups shooting, power testing, prices etc.
Thanx to this forum I have learned a lot, so I hope I can contribute a bit!

Nice looking building with a grass (vegetation) roof. Interesting that it has a DonnyFL on it. Look to be 2 meters long.

Totally agree these guns should be test-used by not just the usual writers, but somebody who shoots daily and never stops.
I might suggest myself, but then so would everyone else.
Here is the deal for me. I shoot everyday, and it's hunting not so much paper. Paper only for zero tests. Usually about 10 squirrels daily.
I just got back from AGAIN trying my Wildcat I .22 out. It's always 50/50 hit/miss ratio. I'm going back, again, to my Taipan Vet .22, standard, which is 90/10.
I would be happy to test out a Dreamline for Fx. But I cannot see myself leaving the Taipan until I shoot a gun that is as accurate and constent shooting.
At least once a week I try the WC again. And each time I come back with thinking: nice gun, well made, etc., but it's just not the same as the Taipan as far as consistency.
But if Fx is listening, I'd be happy to give that Dreamie a try. And I would be the first one to admit if it's a better shooter.
