Tuning FX Dreamtac compact lost fps?

Decided to chrony my dreamtac for the first time in a while. I have not adjusted anything since I got it. Max FPS with Hades use to be 865-875.

Now the max is 845fps. Reg gauge still reading 150bar.

If I am remembering correctly the gun arrived with power wheel at Max and TP on high.

Now that same setting equals 810fps

Leaving power wheel on max and moving transfer port to medium, this nets me 845fps.

Maybe the gun has just settled in and now I need to adjust? Maybe the hammer spring has settled and to to put some more preload?

I love how compact the gun is. I don't need much power for the kind of pest I'm after. The idea of getting a longer barrel is floating around in my head.

So I turned my hammer wheel to max and started turning up the hammer spring adjustment. Walked it right up to 885 fps. It would of any higher than this. Then gave it a half turn back. Turned my hammer wheel to 5 and like Magic, 870 fps 4 times in a row. I've also got that nice whistle of the plenum refilling again. Don't know why I just love that sound.

Either the hammer preload adjustment screw worked its way out or the spring is settling in. Just Just be certain maybe I should put some loctite on the screw.

I did build a longer barrel for my compact. It was longer than the 380mm but shorter than a 500mm. It allowed the gun to coast along at 880fps with 18’s. Funny thing is, I didn’t like the gun as much. The gun lost a little of what I originally liked so much about it. I’m back to using my 380 and just shooting a little slower. Gun is just balanced better with the shorter barrel. I even made a 3 stage shroud for the longer barrel to keep OAL as short as possible and keep the noise under control. Sill like the 380 with a functioning shroud better. Here’s the longer barrel with shroud.
