FX FX DRS 700 .177 anyone tried 20g and 22g slugs?

Have anyone tried heavier slugs in the DRS 700?

Im shooting 16g zans at 970fps at 118bar with my DRS Pro.
My panthera 700 shoots 16g 970fps at 95bar, 20g 970fps at 115bar and 22g 930 fps at 120bar

I was wondering if the DRS are capable of shooting the heavier slugs?
Weather here in Denmark do not allow testing my self the next couple of months....

I have no experience with what you're asking, but does it shoot them well?

In my Maverick with the 1:18 Heavy liner i was not able to shoot 20 grain well. not even 16 gr which some have luck with, i have since tried 20 - 24 in my Epic Two with 1:17.7 CZ barrel and it do not work at distance, shorter range like 50 Y or M it seem to be sort of OK, but i want to shoot heavy to shoot far or in higher winds.

Viking airgunner is testing the new 1:16 FX slug liner, and using 16 gr H&N it dont look too bad, but he have not released footage with other and / or heavier stuff, i assume it come soon CUZ it have been pew - pew weather in Denmark lately, i am also personally going shooting tomorrow.

In regard to air power, i am sure the 700 mm DRS can push things fast enough.
In my Two i was over 900 FPS easy shooting 24 grain Zan, but that is of course another brand / valve system.

I have both the 1:18 and 1:16 for the DRS. I have only shoot 16g. Both shoot then well.

Im curious if the smaller transfer port and plenum in the DRS (compared to the panthera) can shoot 20g and 22g.

Should be because your reg is low.

I don't have Panthera nor DRS. But I have wildcat mk3 bt, more or less a Maverick on wildcat stock with 700mm heavy liner, reg at 155 bar and I'm using the 12g hammer weight with the preload at max (until the gun won't cock) and then give it a full turn in (easing the hammer strike).

It can push the 22gr Zan at about 1000 fps and I tried to turn up the reg to 165 bar and it can push the 24gr slug close to 1000 fps. Although the ideal speed of the 24gr seems to shoot best at about 950 fps or lower on my gun. The 20.5gr NSA likes a variety of speed, but the best result I got is at 1011 fps. However, running the gun that hot, the shot count sucks and you may not want this set up for everyday use. Unless you want slugs with no hollow point, such as the 24gr and 22gr Zans.

But shooting 16gr at 118 bar sounds like a sweet, efficient setup. And for 177, 16gr seems to be a great weight for most occasions.

I suspect your gun might come with a lighter hammer weight that comes with 177 cal. So if you want to reg up, you can try the 11g hammer weight first. Or adding additional hammer weight from FX which is about 1g to your current setup or buying the huma air stiffer spring would give you a lot of configurations that you play with.

But damn.... The DRS and the Panthera sure sound extremely efficient and powerful. You should be able to shoot 24gr Zan supersonic.

Hope it helps.
