FX Fx Drs classic 500 mm or daystatte Revere

Any reason you're not considering the Air Arms S500? I ask since it was mentioned you just want to take it out of the box and shoot. That's what the AA's do best lol.

Any one of the 3 would do you fine. I think the AA is the best choice - quieter than both the DRS and the revere. Longer air cylinder, simpler build, etc.

I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the three but look at the S500 before you make a decision. :)

I myself and thinking about an s510 extra fac carbine. Any experience with these? How loud are they?

I'd like one, but they get a little long with a moderator, even in carbine form.

I have 4 S510's. I am very, very fond of them. I run them at every major competition (RMAC, EBR, PAC). They really shine in .177 and .22. My .177 S510 Tactical (carbine) is pretty quiet @ 20 FPE. The 500mm AA barrels also do pretty well with slugs despite being 12 groove and choked.

You'll get about 80-90 20 FPE shots in .177, 60 30 FPE shots in .22. That's out of the full length rifle. Carbine will lose about 20 shots in my experience. AA underestimates the usable shots on their website. Virtually every example I have gets about 10-15% higher shot count.

There are baffles in the shroud so even without a mod they're backyard friendly (the 30 FPE .22 is on the edge). The shroud also vents back towards the action. I like the Hugget Atom as a companion since it is very short and doesn't add a lot of length.

Thank you for confirming the baffles and air stripper. I never could get a definitive answer on that. I've wanted one for years, well the s410, but might as well get the 510. After getting the revere, I want to see the quality of the AAs.

Do you know if they make the s510 carbine in 25 caliber? I know they make 25s in the full length.

I own or have owned 7 different FX rifles and still have 4. All good guns but their design is more complex and the first issue out usually is problematic. They do improve them, but the parts list changes and you don't really know what's inside. I also have a Revere walnut and have had a Huntsman in the past. It's a proven design and it's stock is much prettier to my eye. BTW, both of my Daystates were unregulated. They provided plenty of consistent, accurate shots. If I had to make the decision again, it would be a Revere.

AA doesn't make the carbine in .25. They make the tactical in .25 which is a carbine length with the non-removable moderator and chassis.
