FX FX DRS Tactical, just awesome 👌

I think FX did a great job on this model . The shot count looks really good in both .177 and .22 . The .177 is tempting with the 500mm capable of 34 fpe and the standard 600mm at 40 fpe but the 700 only makes 42 fpe . Seems like the 600 is the sweet spot in .177. The shot count on the .22 looks great as well with 78 shots at over 27 fpe with the 500mm and the 600 getting 122 shots at the same power level , according to FX specs. A folding stock is a nice mod for transport. I would have a hard time choosing between the .177 and .22 and think the .177 , 600mm should come with the heavy liner . Nice to see one in a members hands and looking forward to hearing more.

I don’t think so since the air tube is too close. I’d think that the slots here are for weight reduction.
Well that’s a bummer. I run into the same issue on ar handguards when mounting near the gas black. I typically will grind the screws down so they don’t touch anything, but the risk of someone not paying attention here makes sense

The tactical does look the part , I was Interested In picking one up , but I bought the Saber tactical stock Instead In grey for my DRS no point In having two of the same . IMO I think It looks even better than the DRS tactical .

Sounds like FX has figured out the optimum plentum volume with this tactical version. We can still use a smaller sized plentum for the classic stocked version with the volume of this tactical version. I have the HP plentum with wood plugs but do not like the look and feel of the huge magazine look. Hey FX if your listening how about coming out with a M2 DRS classic with a plentum sized as short as possible with the volume of the tactile and maybe a Hammer spring adjustment like the Daystate Blackwolf. Well that would probably add too much to the price but at least make the change to the size and volume of the plentum . And then offer the plentum for sale to us genie pigs who figured out the original plentum was not the optimum volume.

Do normal m-lok accessories fit in the handguard? I don’t understand why some airgun manufactures mimic things like m-lok but make them unusable for real accessories
Based on other reviews, there are M-LOK slots on the bottom where the ARCA rail is at. The slots on the side are not M-LOK because it is too close to the barrel/air cylinder.

Okay a report on the dreaded FX slow first shot (valve stiction) . I'm happy to report after sitting for a 12hr period the first shot was only 8fps slower than the subsequent shots. Both my King and Impact M3 were nearly 20fps slower on the first shot. Looks like the DRS valve system is a winner.
Update: after 500 shots to settle the regulator, springs, etc. I am happy to report the 8fps slower first shot is now gone. After sitting overnight 2 days in a row the first shot is now consistent with all other subsequent shots. Looks like FX finally has this issue solved. 😀😊😁

It does come with a grip, buffer tube and telescopic stock. FX's website says those parts are options, but that must not be applicable to the USA market. I did go for the Hogue hardware as it looks much better.
In Europe (The Netherlands) comes without buffertube and stock.

That's good to hear. I wonder how it will do on the first shot if you let it sit for one week. That's if you can leave it alone long enough.

Picked up my DRS Tactical from my good friends at Utah Airguns today. Installed grey Hogue grip, stock, with a folding hinge, and a plenum/regulator gauge. Straight forward easy install of everything. You will need a douty seal for the regulator guage as it seals against the plenum surface. The rail is easy to remove if you need to access the regulator and hammer spring.

Shooting 18gr jsb pellets around 885fps.
I just ordered a DSRT 25 500 did yours come with QD cups on the forend?
I asked before I bought it and they said the forend is only threaded for QD cups.

Thanks

Just threaded, no cups installed.
I appreciate all of the great information. I had a terrible experience with one of the early DRS classics. it was junk. Probe would not line up properly and it would destroy the "o" ring. I hope it was destroyed.
FX took it back.
When I purchase any airgun now, I want it shot tested with data and leak tested [10 days] before shipping to me. That's why I only deal with one shop. Period.
