FX FX DRS Tactical, just awesome 👌

Hi,
I have to ask about the relative quietness of your rifle. I am concerned that with no shroud to absorb some of the sound that the DRS, even in .22 shooting 18.1 gr pellets, will not be "backyard friendly". My experience with the FX King was that even with the Huma Mod 40-4 Avalanche on it gave a pretty loud bark with each shot. Not the quiet "pffft" of my Crown. And the King still had some shroud (fairly long plenum over the barrel).
What do you think?
Cheers,
Greg

Well, I couldn’t resist and got a .22 600mm… shooting 18gr at 895 with an ES of 6 and SD of 1.x after adjusting reg and hammer spring. Getting 5 mags out of it at that setting from 230b (70 shots). Crazy accurate. Like really crazy and I compare to Ghost, Redwolf, impact and the likes. In terms of noise, it’s not quiet. I put a Falx on it and with that it’s fine. Not as quiet as some of the other guns and definitely my loudest 30-35 FPE gun, but not bad. Without a mod it is loud though…

I had posted early when we were receiving the first DRS classic’s that my stock had a burr on the inside edge of the probe hole in the stock that was cutting my o-rings on the probe. A flaw in the molding process. An easy fix with some sand paper and problem solved. I wouldn’t consider that a pice of junk that should have been destroyed. I fixed it and the rifle has been fantastic. I alerted the supplier and FX of this problem . Hopefully they have added this to their inspection before shipping. I hope you have a better experience with this next DRST.

Good to hear about the shot count. What was the reg set at?

Don’t know since I didn’t put a gauge on :) but I upped it a little from stock to reach 925ish with the 18gr and dialed the hammer back to 895. I think maybe 1/4 or 1/2 turn out form all the way in, based on the gauge I fall off reg at 100-105b. Stock hammer was way too high for the reg setting though. Blew the valve wide open and used 5bar or so per shot… Hammer adjuster is nice though, clicks and all :)
