Looking at getting the new fx dynamic express sniper. I’m having a hard time deciding between.22 and .25. Looking at making it a long range shooter and for the occasional squirrel or black bird. What would y’all choose and what grain slug seems to do the best long range.

I'd go with the .25 for more long range stability. I'm not a slug guy so can't help you there. Centercut swears by Altaros slugs. I've shot his Panthera out to 265 yards & it's phenomenally accurate!!!

+1 for Altaros - it’s the next gen choice. I shoot them in 22 32.3 grain out of the Panthera 600. They fly best at 885fps so a 22 gives you 57fpe or 25 (49grain?) gives 86fpe. BCs are outrageous.
They are not hollow point however and one from mine entered a squirrel in the eye and out of the poop chute. I suspect if he’d had two or three buddies in tow, they’d be dead too.

I have fiddled with slugs in my Panthera. I have not tried the Altoros and will not simply because it does not strike me as a good projectile for small game.
I have gone as high as 44 gr and as low as 26.5. The best I have found are the 33-34 gr range and the best of the bunch has been the Zan 33. Second best were the JSB Knockouts.
I have shot the gun a lot at 200 yards recently and the Zans are definitely more consistent at that range. Last weekend I did some shooting at 250. Conclusion? I will leave that distance to Centercut and the Altoros slugs. Or get better with my wind reading and trigger control.
