FX Halo Ammunition - Say Goodbye To Pellets

As an airgun community I believe we deserve a response from FX on this joke of a product "release". It makes them look really bad IMO. Earlier this year they had people posting about them like UA, had them at IWA saying they were done and will be to market shortly. So what happened with that? 7 months later and nothing. My guess is they're not so magical after all

Us PB guys are still waiting on the Cloud Defensive EPL pistol light, and it’s been nearly four years on that. It’s literally become a joke/meme to reference it in the pistol community, so I can see the same happening with these if they don’t drop soon. :ROFLMAO:

Heck, I joined about a month before these were announced, and we’ve moved twice since then lol.

Yeah, Frank, you read my feelings — they were right there in the unedited version.

However, a kind person reached out to me and showed me a blind spot in my emotional response. 🙈

➠ I still think, FX owes us an apology/ explanation.
Yupp.

As long as blind spot doesn’t mean possibly jeopardizing a future freebie relationship with the manufacturer. Don’t be the guy who’s afraid to speak his mind because his favorite toy company will cut him off.

I bet FX couldn't get the flight characteristics good enough to be as precise as compared to the better pellets and current slugs they are already associated with. Probably even more so they couldn't reduce production costs as low as projected.

Maybe whoever it was that caused all those legal problems in FX USA jumped the gun with the/a premature HALO announcement to begin with.

FX should definitely clear the air on this subject.

I found a slug that is very “halo” like. It’s a JSB Knockout MK3 in .177.

Deep hollow cavity..super accurate in my RTI..they expand nicely and hold together well..and provide a satisfying POP when they hit something.

Yeah, I saw those. That's right down my alley.
But "my" calibers — they're still stuck in MkI and MkII mode.... 😆

And patience isn't my strong suit.
Come to think of it, I only own ONE suit....
My goodness.... 🤦🏻‍♂️

OK folks. I've been reading up on the case between the folks that used to run FX-USA and the majority owner. From details within the case it appears that the facility and equipment that would have been used to manufacturer Halo slugs was caught in the middle. The short is that FX-USA went under receivership almost a year ago and I believe assets were liquidated to pay fees and debts. So what I'm saying is this, if these slugs ever hit the market they will likely come from Sweden or elsewhere in Europe. This is the best I can gather from reading court documents. of all that I have read, I am under the very strong impression that this is probably what happened. In conclusion, please note that the original post announcing these slugs was posted by the defunct entity that was FX-USA.

Makes sense when you think about it. But why not come out and say it? Would be much better for clarity for the community.

The parent company is embroiled in some pretty messy and complex litigation. I’d say probably because they have bigger fish to fry and I suppose there’s more to it but as an outsider looking in, I don’t wish to speculate any further on the topic.

JSB Knockout MK3 in .177.
Those also fly well out of my Two, a while back i was trying the Mk3 for the first time, and on a regular range day ( so not particular calm ) i put 7 out of 10 on a fence post thinner than 2" at 128 or so yards.
So i am buying more MK3 slugs even if i dont really shoot lighter than 13 grain.
Also i do not get why JSB do not give their 13 grain knockouts the MK3 treatment

The regular .177 knockouts, while by no means bad, i did find that in my Maverick the Zan slugs was a bit better

Yep. I’ve had similar results at longish distances. Couple weeks ago shooting ground squirrels. Lots of shots 20-65 yards. Snick, POP, flop. There was only light to no wind but the results were amazing. Then a juvenile red tail hawk landed on one that flopped at around 40 yards. It tried twice to fly off with the gs and this prompted another gs at 98.5 yards to hop up on a log to watch. No wind, so I just ChairGun-ed the hold over for 98. Snick, POP, flop. Looking forward to trying some 13gr slugs, but so far I’ve been very impressed with the “light” 10gr MK 3s. I don’t think the ground squirrels have enjoyed them, though.
