This is one of the earliest impacts to reach the US is this one. For many years, it has operated flawlessly with no leaks or problems. However, a few years ago, I installed a power plenum to improve performance. Regrettably, it was the last time the impact behaved strangely, losing power, changing velocity, and beginning to leak. I'm too spoilt by my other guns, so I never tried to fix it.
I made the decision to take it out of the rifle case and give her some TLC about a month ago. I ordered a few more components for aesthetics and power, disassembled the entire rifle, and cleaned it thoroughly from the inside out. She is still performing as powerfully as she did on the first day.
It's just more attractive and strong now! I have NSA 29.5 g configured to fire at 950 fps. If you don't think she's hitting hard, ask the eleven squirrels she destroyed a few days ago.
it's a lovely place to shoot, sadly, it wasn't as green as it was when I visited before. It's drying out everywhere in California once more! However, the community of squirrels was there.
I took some pics of the trip, most of which were taken between 63 and 150 yards, but I was too lazy to get the majority of them.
At 82 yards, the first one sat at the base of the boulders.
Here's a closer look at the squirrel.
I saw a second one poking its head out as soon as I shot the first one, and although the squirrel thought it was very stealthy, but the glass on my Impact confirmed its presence. I loaded it again and this time, it hit its mark—they make a nice, satisfying thagg sound when they hit!
At the nearer tree on the left was where the squirrel was.
A closer look of his position. Can you see it?
Can you see it now?
I shot a few more, some of them were runners, man I don’t know how this critters are so tough!
I shot this young one @91 yards. I normally don’t shoot the small ones but this one was annoying me, alerting the community of my presence. The Impact put the smack down on it!
This one was the longest shot of the day
123yards, it was sunbathing on one of the small boulders all the way in back.
This zombie squirrel almost made to the hole!
I few more shots of the place, very peaceful and enjoyable area, especially been away from the city!
For one second i thought it was a squirrel! but when I got closer it was a piece of a dry tree!
