FX IMPACT 25

"sharroff"Tominco,

Let us know if they replace the bottom plate around the air fill. I've seen versions where they have added recesses opposite of each other so one can use fingers to remove the foster connector. Mine didn't come with that either (one month old).

Ah yes, I remember seeing a picture of that somewhere. I'll let you know if I remember, and if I have time. My wife is due for our first child today so, I might be just a bit busy and forget. lol! Hit me up with a PM if I don't get back to you. :)

sharoff .. My Australian delivered Impact (2 weeks ago) has the recessed bottom plate making attaching the filling fitting easier. My filler attachment is FX with the grippy knurled surface and by reaching over the gun an placing a thunb nail on each side of the fitting and pushing down it releases relatively easily. In someways I actually prefer the slight inconvienience of the filler port being a little on the short side as I support the gun at this point when off-hand shooting, and a filler port that extended below the frame any further would not be as comfortable........ but maybe that's just me.

I am an impact owner and have been for about 4 months now. I can't remember the exact number of pellets I have through mine but I do know I am above 3300. I have had no issues with my impact to this point. Now, me being a happy owner, I have not been on the forum lashing out with my pride because I have been, like most have said, shooting my impact and having a blast to say the least.
Can I ask how your power wheel looks after +3000 shots?

My looks after only 300 shots like this!:

If i would shot the 300 only on min power, I think the power wheel would be pierced from the adjusting screw!

APerfectMiss,

No hijacking happened...it is a good conversation to have for those that are still deciding on an Impact.@Sharroff and @SNOWBOARD223,Some question for you on your Impact:1) Have you tried to put a quick disconnect bipod on the lower rail? Yes.

When it is put on so that it doesn't move around, will it quick release? My Atlas would not.

2) Have you put a 1/8 MOA scope on your Impact? Yes, 50yd min adjustment was too short (Nikon Monarch 3). Worked great for prairie dogs at about 70yds. I did go back to a Hawke SW for now.

I don't think it is the scope .... I think the alignment between the barrel and scope mount aren't correct. The back of the scope needs to be moved up in order to get the alignment correct.

3) Have you tried low profile rings on your Impact? Yes, too low for my comfortable check position

Yep.

4) Have you done a barrel swap on your Impact?  No, I have yet to purchase another barrel. Plan on the .177 though.
4a) After the barrel swap have you tried resighting with the same scope? N/A based on #4 ^^
4b) After you go back to the original barrel did the scope setting for the initial sight in hold? ^^, barrel removal and re-installing same said barrel did not affect the POI.

I think you will find you will need to change both the vertical and horizontal alignment between the barrels. Atleast between 25 and 30 they both need changed...it's not just fix the vertical.

6) Have you shot your Impact over a chronograph to look at shot to shot variation and extreme spread? I have and had very consistent results on many different days.
I guess the Impacts have variation then. I was not impressed with extreme spread and shot to short. I used sorted size and weight pellets that were lubed so it wasn't the pellet

7) Have you taken apart your shroud and inspected it yet? Yes, be sure to have spare o-rings available due to sharp edges.
Yep..that's my point.

8) Have you tried adjusting your trigger yet to make it like the ‘match’ trigger that was advertised? I have and will say that the trigger is not what I expected, but still a great trigger none the less.
I think it is ok for a hunting trigger, but good luck at getting the travel out of stage 2 and getting the weight down to a few ounces.

9) Have you used your power wheel significantly and looked at wear or do you just shoot it at the same setting? Yes and I put a very small amount of grease on the cam to prevent the grinding against the parts(seems to work great). Another great point though. There should be a better design to prevent the gouging when adjusting.Point to make on this as well; be very sure the gun is not cocked when adjusting the power wheel. There is too much tension on the wheel if the gun is cocked and will create the greater potential for unnecessary gouging.
Not to mention that turning that wheel when cocked may void the warranty :) I think they should have used a harder metal for that wheel.

Has anyone checked their power wheel for wear on the inside cam. I had to replace my wheel after about 3000 shoots due to extra wear on the cam. Did FX use a harder metal for newer wheels?

FX IMPACT 25 / 2ND REVIEW

SETTING:
Pacific Northwest at the Mouth of the Colombia River Gorge in a small town called Washougal, Washington. The conditions cold, wet, windy. I went up in to the hills at an elevation of 1232 feet. The rain was heavy and the winds were blustery to about 15 mph. I set my target up at 81 yards and went for it. Besides the weather being bad I was not feeling so hot as well. Had some friends over the night before and OVER TRAINED WITH THE ADULT BEVERAGES. With that said I leaned up against the side of a tree and went for it. I was holding 2 Mills up and one to the left for windage. I was blown away with how well the gun performed. This will not sound impressive to the shooters who sit at benches and use aids. Again standing up in cold windy conditions on un-level ground leaning against a tree hung over!! 2" groups were easy on 16 shots. Take away my 2 worst of the group and HOLY COW!!

I do not baby my guns and look forward to abusing this one!! Where I live wind is daily and rain is pretty much 7-8 months out of the year. I look forward to my next outing when I have not over trained and see what I can really due with this amazing piece of Air Gun Engineering.
