Tuning FX IMPACT .357 MAGNUM

I recently power tuned an FX IMPACT M3 .35 cal. for a friend and created the beast I named the FX .357 Magnum! It came out of the box shooting the FX 81gr pellets at 830 ft/s for 124 ft. lbs. Energy. That would be fine for some guys but my friend is a "power head" like me, and so he asked me to power tune it and accurize the barrel for him. It's now shooting the FX 81gr pellets at 930 ft/s or 155ft. lbs. E...so I increased the power output by 30 ft. lbs...YeeHaa!

And it's shooting the NSA 79gr Slugs at 930 ft/s which is 152 ft. lbs. energy. This rifle shoots the 79gr Slugs with deadly hunting accuracy. A friend in Michigan recently got a 227 lb. doe with a head shot at 82 yards, and then this morning he also got a rabbit at 90 yards with his new power tuned FX .357 Magnum

Best regards, Chuck

At 50yds it’s pellet on pellet

drop back to 75yds and all over the place.

im going to try and chrono it all and see where it’s at. I just wondered if anyone had settings that worked for them using jsb or H and n

to get me somewhere close

Mine likes 79g NSA.

As for settings, I'll keep it simple, Max everything out.

If you're looking for precision and power, there is a fella in Florida who can power tune your .35. If you're dedicated and aren't just kicking tires, he'll help you out. 😁

Otherwise, keep searching the forums. There's a ton of hidden info on here.

Good luck

So whats your regulatory front and rear set at?

Hey, I am new here. I am trying to max my power for deer control in my yard. I am shooting at 50 yards. I have my front reg set at 200, rear set at 150, large hammer wheel at 16, micro at about 4.9. Airflow reg is at line 5. I am using a chronograph and every time I shoot the fps goes up. It has never peaked yet. So it went from 747 to 860 in about 24 shots. I decided to wait a day or two and try again. Anyone know why this is happening? .35 cal 81 gr JSBs are being used.
