A tiny piece of an o-ring put down the screw hole on the C1, before the Allen set screw is inserted, will put pressure against the screw and help keep it from backing out. I do this in addition to using blue locktight and have never had the C1 come loose since I have been doing this. My C1 did come loose once before I did this to it.

+1 this is a great solution. Only change I would make would be to consider Purple Loctite for the lighter adherence for future adjustments. Blue can be a little to "permanent" some times as we have all experienced.Upvote 0
I don't have a set screw with my C1. I just use a small amount of blue Loctite to secure it and have not had any issues with doing this. I remove it after clamping on a heatsink to the valve rod just behind C1 (toothless pliers) by heating it up a little with a Bic lighter for just a short period to soften the Loctite. It unscrews easily doing that.

As a guess, I would say that is the purple Loctite. It has the least grip of the Loctite's. Harder to find as I understand it.
