Going to buy one soon but just wondering if this gun has any real competition. Shoots slugs and pellets at 100yds accurately with a 500mm barrel. Anything out there that give it a run for it's money???
Ya not expecting just HOPING lolwell,
don't go into it absolutely expecting that it will shoot slugs well,
you may get lucky, but mine never liked slugs all that much.
pellets,definately, love my m3.
My primary reason for wanting a compact is to carry around the woods for squirrels and rabbits. So need a shorter gun...I've got a reinforced superior 500mm .22 barrel on my crown and it is not picky about slugs at all. It shoots most very accurately. But the gun is very well tuned.... as for compact. Lots of people swear by agts, taipans and others. I prefer a traditional rifle layout, and shooting under 70 yards, so I primarily use the crown with 380mm barrel, and 16gr pellets
Plan on spending about 3k total
Owned a Wildcat, loved it but really enjoy the tunability of the Impacts, not to mention the customization of them.A Wildcat BT would be a runner up, and also the Maverick, depending on which ergonomics you prefer.
Hmmm didn't know Taipan had a mini? I already own a Pathfinder bug it's .177 and really lacks the power I'm looking for. Heard good things about the cricket. Not a fan of the Edguns..If you want really compact have a look at
Brocock pathfinder xr
ataman bp-17
Taipan mini
Cricket mini
Edgun lelya 2
you dont have to spend 3k for something compact
.25 calWhat caliber? People have had good results with the uragan compact 22 with pellet and slugs. Even more compact.
You sacrifice when going with a 500mm barrel, a lot more air disturbance when getting the slugs out at the velocity they typically need.
Depends on what your accepted accuracy is.
There is a reason why they have 600 and 700 barrels
Airgun Technology. Their Vulcan's also shoot pellets and slugs very well.Uragan? Will have to look that one up! As for the 500mm slug issue I'm well aware of it. Just hoping I can get it to shoot slugs well. Seriously considering going up to 600mm with a few slug add-ons. I really don't need to shoot slugs just really enjoy the damage they cause on the target![]()
Lol very honest there, I'm open to other guns... Last year I bought an Impact M3 700mm in .25 tuned it for slugs and found my Soul mate haha. Love the look and accessories you can put on them.If you are looking at overall owner experience, a lot of guns can give it a run for its money. If you are looking at first shot and overall consistency, even more guns can give it a run for its money or best it. Power capabilities for its size, few will give it a run for its money. Hype, well almost nothing will give it a run for its money.
That's what I do with mine. Otherwise I would use a longer barrel. 500mm impact vs 380mm crown. The crown is a far superior hunting rifle IMO. Far better off-hand shooter. Balance is wayyy better. Also points naturally, where the impact does not. The impact for me, just handles very strangely. My primary reason for wanting a compact is to carry around the woods for squirrels and rabbits.
