Hi Stiglicius. I am trying to get the shroud off too but it is very stuck. Did you succeed in getting the shroud off and if so how? Thanks!! BobRegarding the shroud of a Impact M3 does someone know if is it threaded or glued? The same question but a different end of a shroud

Hi Rc4fun thanks for replying so fast! I I have an fx impact extended 800 mm and I want to swap the liner to a superior heavy liner. I am trying to get the shroud off the barrel. I have no carbon. It is the factory barrel and shroud still. The barrel glides out the shroud quite a bit but at the end it gets stuck. Very stuck. I already tried quite a bit of force, turning adding a bit of heat but still very stuck. Gun is very new. Best to try to get the side on the picture (backside shroud)off or the front of the shroud where the moderator is cscrewed on?The shroud off the gun or remove the end parts from the carbon tube?
The front metal section of the shroud is screwed onto the barrel liner 'keeper'. Sometimes over tight and may have a touch of locktight. Use a soldering iron or small torch to heat the inside threads and twist, unscrew the shroud. Don't over do the heat.
If the barrel is tensioned you may need to use a strap wrench. Which BTW may work without heat.

Hi Airgunman, Thanks for the quick reply. I will then try to apply more heat with a heatgun.Heat helps they like to use lock tight on them it seems
Thanks, I will try applying heat with the heatgun then....My shroud is carbon. Once you've got as far as you have there should be no reason for it not to come off. But I don't have an 800mm barrel.
The back part is screwed into the shroud but will take a lot of heat to get it to turn.
