Oh, these magazine wheels are awesome! I’m at the ranch now and have shot 7 magazines using various slugs(25.1gr-40gr.) and the 33.95 JSB MKII’s without a single slug turning on its side or not feeding correctly.
Yep Edosan, you’re correct. Stu and I have built a relationship, so he’s been giving me stuff to test and use. I suggested these a while back when we were discussing speed loading FX magazines here on AGN. He and I talked about it and since he had already been working on something similar, he whipped these out for me quick. Got them yesterday.
Although he lives in Great Britain, when he ships me stuff(to California) I usually get it in 4 days, must go straight to San Francisco? The longest it’s taken has been 6 days.
He also makes or modifies power parts for the Impact and MKII in .22, .25 and .30...External plenums(30cc-45cc), brass TP(single or dual ports), modified bolt probes, modified valve housings, various sized valves, etc... I have been using some of his parts but not the plenum or valve housing because the modified valve hadn’t showed up last night with the magazine wheels. Wouldn’t have done much good without the modified VH.
Anyhoo, it’s all great stuff and works as it should. The parts under pressure have been thoroughly tested beyond working pressures and passed with flying colors! I might add that he had made some horizontal, in-line plenums but aborted the project after running into way too many problems. He doesn’t think the in-line version is as reliable or functions as well as the vertical version, so he won’t be producing it anytime soon. Those are his words not mine, I’m just sharing, so if you don’t agree, I’m sorry but please don’t take it out on me. You can discuss the problems with him!
One other thing regarding the bolt probe. There are many ways to modify the bolt probe...completely removing the bottom half, removing material from top and bottom, making a C shape, angling it, basically anything you can think of. We’ve tested the version with top and bottom material removed, completely removing the bottom half, leaving a C shape on the top of the probe and just enlarging the pre-existing hole with a larger similar shaped hole. The version with the bottom half completely removed does occasionally have feeding issues as does the C shaped version but only on very, very rare occasions. The version shown and the version with top and bottom removed are the most reliable by far but the FPS gains between the two are about 2-3fps, so whether or not you go the extra step is up to you. If you have time and tools, it certainly can’t hurt!
I’ll share Stu’s contact information after I talk to him today. He is most easily contacted through Facebook Messenger but I have his phone number, e-mail and What’s App. information as well. I just want to clarify which contact information he wants people to use. Remember it’s 6-9 hours earlier than it is in the USA. Don’t call at 3:00am!
Tell him Kevin(Stoti) sent you!
I hope you all have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving! Stoti
